Android, to put it nicely, seems to lack a certain amount of UI consistency in its current form. We were a bit confused on the different white text on black or black text on white decisions but we're also well aware that choosing the Android platform is geared more towards the future than the right now. So in a bit of backwards thinking we look into the past to see a couple design choices that might have been.

The Astonishing Tribe, the team behind the user interface of Android, has released some slides detailing previous user interface ideas. Some were clunky, others were complicated, but a few looked pretty good. What do you think, should Android look like something else or are you happy with its current model?

I don't think this is an important question, since Adroid is an open system, you can wait for an Skin Manager application... ;)
