Runkeeper

MobileFiltEarlier this week we highlighted the best running apps on Windows Phone, iOS, Android and BlackBerry. All month we'll be looking at the top apps across a variety of categories related to fitness. Why? It's #MobileFit month! We're exploring the intersection of a healthy lifestyle and technology. When we posted those top rated running apps, we also included a poll for the various communities to select their favorite running apps. Those results are in. Here are the best running apps according to you.

To refresh your memory, here are the posts for each platform. Check them out to find a handful of great running apps for your mobile platform of choice:

In each of those posts, we had a poll where you, the Mobile Nations community, could vote on your favorite running app. Here are the winners, as determined by you:

iOS

Android

Windows Phone

BlackBerry

Congrats to Runkeeper and Endomondo on being the top running apps. Sound off in the comments on what makes these apps your favorites.

RunKeeper is great on my Android phone and they have a great web interface. However now that I run with Omate TrueSmart, Endomondo is a great interface on the small screen.

Just started using a Fitbit but I might try connecting it to Runkeeper since I only really intend to use it to track runs and Runkeeper might present that in a more logical way...

grydlok says:

it doesn't really connect. It just shares data .

Yeah I saw that, which is fine, probably simpler than going straight from the device to a different app, Fitbit's app is remarkably simple to set up and easy to use. It's a shame they didn't work on Android compatibility earlier (or it wasn't possible cause of whatever BT protocol issue), cause it seems to work very well...

Never saw the appeal in running. I bike

AC should post apps which impact the lives of most of their readers. Something that tracks their drinking perhaps?

And? Is the mere mention of them that irritating that a comment and caps lock were necessary?

A895 says:

GTFO of here with that mentality. This is MOBILE NATIONS. You act like those bone heads on CrackBerry.

A comment against discrimination AND sweeping generalizations about another group? Well played.

Seeing how Crackberry commentators always criticize posts about anything other than BlackBerry, I think my statement was spot on. I

AMAZING! All of them? Always?!

It's a good thing there's not some definition of generalization that completely invalidates your previous comment. Furthermore, both my above comment and this one were intended primarily in jest, but you're still wrong.

you have to excuse him, apparently both Blackberry users have assaulted him recently

You see, this is a tasteful attack at the lack of popularity of the Blackberry platform. It doesn't demean the actual users. 10/10 quality post.

I don't run outdoors. But when I lift I track workouts with "Progression, Gym & Fitness" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=workout.progression.pro . Not sure why this app gets overlooked. Follows holo design standards and it works
