Google Music

Just a quick reminder that Google's cranking things up to 11 this afternoon in Los Angeles, and it's inviting everyone along with them. You, too, can watch in the comfort and safety of your own home as Google announces ... something ... related to music. All bets are on a proper music store, with some sort of "twist" along with it. Stay tuned, and hit youtube.com/android at 5 p.m. EST/2 p.m. PST for all the details.

Because times are often (if not always) listed with the earliest time zones first when dealing with a national audience?

Who flipping cares. U all have turned into a bunch of know it all's. Its getting really sad. U don't like it go make your own forum.

If GMusic adds a Store, lets hope it also adds the ability to retrieve your music out of your Gmusic cloud with all the same names you put it in there with instead of a bunch of anonymous file names.

I've been nursing my music collection along for years, and I've gone thru more than my share of recovery from failing disks. It would be nice to be able to count on the cloud.

I'd also like it to be smart enough to sample my music from my computer and simply add a pointer to a cloud copy (like Apple) rather than me spending all that time uploading only to have them de-duplicate it once its on their servers.

I really hope they announce an option to buy or add more songs (storage?) than the current limit in the Music Beta. Also would be nice if the PC client would allow the option to EXCLUDE certain directories so I can add a larger /Music folder and exclude certain subfolders if I wanted.

As some band takes the stage, the first plunge of a hand down the strings of the guitar prompts a fireworks explosion in the background. A fog machine and some spinning lights silhouette a man walking from the back of the stage. His shiny leather pants take on the hues of the lights and he thrusts his hand into the air. The lights dim, the fog clears and a spotlight focuses on the mystery man to reveal Dan Mead with his LTE Galaxy Nexus and a release date.

Hey, it could happen.

Here's to hoping that this is exactly what happens!

Funny thing is, most of the ads that I'm seeing today are for the Galaxy Nexus or for Verizon... probably just a coincidence, but...

The Verge asked Matias Duarte for a release date and he smiled a lot and said he can't give a date because it would "steal the partner's thunder." However, he did reconfirm Nov. See it at 25:45 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5K4HImSqR1k

So there is no way that the GNex release date will be provided at a Google event.

I just want a straight picture of that Bugdroid throwing the horns. Can someone remove all the text and filters?

Oh well ....... yet another Google product/service only available in North America.

The EMI guy spoke about a "global" market so hopefully we'll get it in other parts of the world in the not too distant future.
