Microsoft has released an Android version of its Bing Rewards app for US residents, allowing those folks who are also members of that service to not just generate points but to monitor them and exchange those points for prizes.
In case you are not familiar with Bing Rewards, it's a way for Microsoft to get people in the US (sorry, rest of the world) to use its Bing search engine. Users can generate a certain amount of points per day just by searching for things in Bing that are collected and then can be exchanged for things like e-gift cards from a number of different retailers. Points can also be used to enter special sweepstakes or they can even be donated in exchange for money sent to charities.
Here's the actual change log for the app:
- Manage your account, earn credits, enter sweepstakes and find new ways to earn every day
- Redeem credits for great rewards from Amazon.com, Starbucks, Xbox and many more
- Check your current status and find out how to get to the next level
- Track your order history and ensure you received all the items you ordered with your hard earned credits
Again, the app and Bing Rewards itself is only for people who live in the US. What do you think of Microsoft expanding Bing Rewards to Android owners?
