Gmail adds two new features on Android smartphones

Google is pushing out an update for the Gmail app on Android, which brings along the ability to unsubscribe from mailing lists, as well as block senders. You will now be able to accomplish both of these tasks from the Gmail app as well as from the web, with a few simple clicks. Someone spamming you? A few taps and you'll be able to block them. Mailing lists cluttering your inbox? End that once and for all.

The blocking feature is now available on the web, and will be rolling out across Android devices over the course of the next week. Emails from blocked addresses will arrive in your spam folder, and you can always unblock someone if you happen to make a mistake. As for the unsubscribe option, that is also rolling out with the update, which users should see hit their phones and tablets over the course of the next week.
