MapMyFitness adds Google Fit support in version 3.3

Eager to give Google Fit a test drive? MapMyFitness updated its fitness tracking Android app today to bring Google Fit integration, along with a few other nifty little features.

The addition of Google Fit integration to MapMyFitness will allow you to connect to other apps and effortlessly track a multitude of different stats including run time, distance, and heart rate information.

In addition to the headline feature, MapMyFitness has also added an activity feed. This feature is like a news feed for yours and your friends' activity throughout the day. It will allow you to take a quick glance at routes, workouts, and ranks that you and others have earned.

The final addition in this update is that of the Gear Tracker. This feature integrates with and allows you to add a running list of gear that you use during workouts. Currently, the feature only supports tracking shoes, but the ability to track other gear will be added in the future.

It is definitely interesting to see app developers hopping on integrating Google Fit into their apps, and it will be even more interesting to see how these apps talk to one another.
