Yes, the link to the survey loops to android central. There is no survey.

Looking at it on my computers and other devices and the link works just fine. Sorry for any issues you're having.

tunie says:

It's Firefox. The survey is there with the native browser.

I realize I'm a little late to the party, but this definitely needs an option NOT to vote on certain questions, or an N/A or Other option. I really have no experience with Android tablets, children's games, sports apps, etc. but it wouldn't let me move forward without picking one at random. This is certain to skew your results!

Rmbrown1964 says:

I agree I can only honestly answer about 5 of the questions. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Posted via Android Central App

glazedfaith says:

For sure. Forcing participants to vote on products they haven't experienced will no doubt skew results towards the products perceived as most popular in name alone, which wouldn't require a survey in the first place.

ultravisitor says:

I was able to submit with some questions unanswered.

return_0 says:

Skipping questions worked perfectly fine for me...

scottwood2 says:

Yes, I canceled taking the poll because I was voting in too many areas that I was just guessing.

-IRON- says:

Same issue. I dont know how some are getting lucky but i could not skip any. Gave up after just puting something too many times.

Let us skip or put a N/A option. Without that the survey means nothing and cannot be considered accurate because some people will put a vote for something they know nothing about

Best phone overall: Nexus 5

return_0 says:

The camera is actually pretty good from what I've read and seen; sure, phones like the G2 have better cameras, but you can get the N5 with the camera still being an important factor in your decision. But I agree that the battery life needs work.

NoNexus says:

It is far and away the worst camera on any major release this year.

You've used it?

Yes

Happy Holiday's from my phone to yours...

NoNexus says:

And most reviews point it out. I believe that Android Central said it was average at best, but I am not in a position to look it up right this second.

Even so, it doesn't touch the g2, n3, s4, or Sony cameras

-----------------------------------------
Happy Holiday's from my phone to yours...

I really think its all software. And I'm usually not too good at the whole camera thing, but I've taken really good pictures with it and it seems like it depends on how well you can get it to focus. The s4 and note and g2 and even iphones take great pictures because they don't have to wait a year to focus. They take pictures about 364 days, 23 hours and 59 seconds quicker than the n5. I'll admit that, but seeing how much the update improved it, it seems to be all software that's wrong. But the hardware can take a pretty darn good picture.

That being said, I'd still take a sub par camera over touchwiz any day:)

Posted via Android Central App

NoNexus says:

you will not get much of an argument that I would gather it is more software than hardware, but we are taking things in the overall sense here, so...yeah it is very pedestrian overall, and that reduces consumer confidence in the overall phone.

I will take touchwiz over software that makes my phone worse anyday. Visually, software can be replaced, core functions cannot

Best device in 2013 the Galaxy Note 3 is definitely unparalleled.

While a great phone, the G2 is still behind the Note 3 in overall specs and functionality

-----------------------------------------
Happy Holiday's from my phone to yours...

While the Note 3 is a great phone it is not "the best".

ಠ益ಠ

return_0 says:

Does it still need to be repeated that specs aren't everything? The only advantage the Note 3 has specwise is the extra RAM, but that barely makes a difference when TouchWiz is taken into consideration. Meanwhile, the G2 has better battery life and a better camera. If you value the large screen or S Pen functionality, the Note 3 is a better option, but otherwise, the G2 is a better all-around choice.

ki11ak3nn says:

You meant Note 3 over G2 right?? How does the G2 have better battery life when the Note 3 has a bigger battery??

Posted via Android Central App

NoNexus says:

While size of the battery is not all that relevant in this case, I will say they have close to the same battery life.

The thing is, the Note is more screen, so I would have to say the battery life would be better

1. That is only your opinion, not a fact. Period. Plain and simple. End of discussion.
2. Given that Samsung has been found to be secretly paying people to say good things about them and their products, and you've certainly said nothing even remotely bad about them in the past 1.5 years, I would say on good authority that you're one of Samsung's secretly paid lackeys. For god sakes, you called the latest Samsung security blunder involving Knox "hog wash": http://bgr.com/2013/12/24/samsung-knox-security-vulnerability/#comment-1...

called out once again! There are a lot of good devices this year! It is hard for me to give the edge to one of them. Had a moto x and it was a great phone, but wasn't totally for me. The HTC one has enticed me for most of the year, but I think I will wait to see what the M8 will be like. The note 3 is just too large for my taste and the G2 is really interesting with the great camera and awesome display!

NoNexus says:

NoNexus says:

wrong.

The battery life is great. I get the same kind of usage out of it as the G2 and the G2 is a much smaller screen.

The LG skin is arguably worse thank TW, with less functionality. There is absolutely one thing you cannot complain about, and that is the functions of the Note 3.

I think the G2 is a great device, it just doesnt match up to the Note 3 overall. Anythign and everything in the G2 is in the note, and more...

nexus device looks ugly and needs to be improved in many ways. Sadly it will never outsell the s4 or the note 3. Oh, and the new kitkat update is nothing to brag about.

It's not ugly, improvements are what the OEMs do. It is a barebones os so it does it well, while providing room for extending the functionality

impu15ify says:

Let's be honest, the Nexus 4 was more beautiful and felt a lot more premium in comparison to the Nexus 5.

Posted via Android Central App

jtc276 says:

I'm sorry, but that's just not true. I've owned every flagship this year and the ugliest by far was the Galaxy S4. It felt slippery in the hand and the physical home button was cumbersome. The Nexus 5 wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing, but it certainly wasn't the worst. It's meant to have a minimal design but, at the same time, it feels very good in the hand and has a nice footprint for a 5 inch device. I'm not being an apologist. I actually sent my Nexus 5 back due to the weak speaker and problems with the display (both of which I've heard have been improved so I might give it another spin). But Galaxy owners claiming their devices are the best when they're constantly criticized for being poorly designed in both physical and software areas is growing annoying.

Posted via Android Central App

This is really refreshing to hear.

Posted via Android Central App

NoNexus says:

The s4 was an extension of the sgs3. I was not thrilled with the design of the backing on it, but it was far from ugly. The home button being cumbersome is a personal preference. I had trouble getting used to the buttons on the back of the g2, but they were far from cumbersome, just different.

Tw may be ugly, but tw is not just looks.
Tw is the most feature rich skin there is. In theory it is awesome. In reality it is awesome but wastes space.

I use a tw ROM on my Note 3 that is half the size with all the function. Well 90%.

Also, the Note 3 is a very solid device in all areas it feels good, it looks good and it functions flawlessly

And the speaker still stinks (actually it does on the note 3 too), never had a problem with the display, camera still way behind the competition.

Andrew, I can't believe Pocket Casts didn't make it on to any of the "Best ofs"... This is easily one of the best designed Android apps, not to Mention Shifty Jelly was one of the first to Support Android first over iOS.

rovex says:

Its fairly predictable that the worst major release of the year, the Nexus 5, will win best Phone. Its almost embarrassing at this point that such a shoddy, cheaply made bug ridden piece of junk is considered good in the android community.

Cubfan says:

Yup, but don't tell people who bought it that it's second-rate. Or that the Moto X is better. Really gets them steamed.

HalizDad says:

The Moto X is the phone of the century...just ask Phil or Jerry.

Guys maybe next year it could be a little shorter, say 20 questions, and actually have some relevant questions?

There certainly needs to be an option for users to answer a question with N/A since they're more familiar with than others. By being forced to vote on a product a user is not familiar with the results will certainly be skewed.

I'm hoping that in the not too distant future more people will find out about SoftMaker Office. I'm pretty sure that TextMaker, PlanMaker, and Presentations are by far the best mobile office suite out there for any mobile device. They were the best by far for years before Android existed. Now that the applications have been brought from Windows Mobile to Android, we can enjoy the feature rich applications and the unrivaled file format compatibility that they offer.

If you have a file you can't view correctly or a missing feature you think is only available on the desktop for Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, give these apps a try! While the apps are relatively expensive at $4 each right now I think they're well worth it and there are free trial version of the apps as well.

Btw...I have not affiliation with the company other than I've used their products for years and haven't seen anything close. I'm always disappointed when I see mentions of Office suites for Android and SoftMaker isn't mentioned. The SoftMaker apps are what all the others need to compete with.
