Google I/O is the company's yearly developer conference, traditionally held at Moscone West in San Francisco but in 2016 moved to the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, right in Google's backyard. That's where the conference returns for 2017, since Moscone is being renovated, and Shoreline can accommodate far more people.

Google I/O is where thousands of developers, partners and press come together to see the latest announcements on Google's platforms, services and products. The 2017 conference takes place from May 17-19.

This year, we're expecting news about Android O, and a renewed emphasis on security and privacy. We could possibly hear about Google's rumored Fuschia project, which purports to combine Android and Chrome OS into a single unified platform called Andromeda, as well as enhancements to Google Home, Daydream and Google Assistant.
