Samsung is now believed to be debuting a Google Glass competitor this fall, possibly alongside the Galaxy Note 4. Dubbed the Gear Glass, the wearable smart glasses is expected to run the Tizen operating system similar to Samsung's recently updated smartwatches, like the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and the Gear Fit.

According to a report on Korean publication Business Korea, the Gear Glass is expected to debut in Germany at the IFA show, citing an undisclosed Samsung associate. The IFA show is a venue that Samsung had used in the past to showcase its Galaxy Note phablet series.

"We rolled out the smartwatch first, and have secured a considerable amount of smart glass-related technology and patents," the associate said. "Following the roll out of our smart watch Galaxy Gear in September last year, we are slated to introduce our smart glass Gear Glass this September."

"The Gear Glass design combines an ear piece and display, enabling people to listen to music with the right ear while looking at the display with the right eye," the publication alleges. Samsung has thus far not announced the Gear Glass and we still don't know what the smart glasses will ultimately look like when and if it gets announced in Berlin later this fall.
