We have seen a lot of TV commercials from Google promoting its Android OS, but the latest one maybe its oddest creation yet. It's a holiday-themed ad that doesn't actually show anyone using a smartphone or tablet. Instead it's a puppet show, except the puppets are fingers dressed as humans.
The one minute clip shows these finger humans doing both ordinary things, such as riding a subway or taking a shower, along with some out-of-the-ordinary situations like flying saucers that have aliens and ancient Egyptians on board, and versions of Dracula, The Wolfman and The Mummy. The final part of the commercial shows all of these fingers gathering for a holiday feast. The theme of the ad is, apparently, that humans are like fingerprints. Each one is unique, but it's always better when people come to live and work together.
