Last night in New York City, Samsung and Boost Mobile officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Prevail. The Galaxy Prevail is a mid-level Android smartphone that will be exclusive to Boost Mobile. This new addition to Boost Mobile will cost you $179.99. With Boost's unlimited plan, you can get talk, text, and internet for only $50 a month. Not bad, not bad at all.

As a parting gift, we were given a review device to take home. Here is our first initial hands-on video with the Galaxy Prevail. Can't watch the video? Read our written hands-on here. Check back in a few days as we will have our full review.

It looks like a pretty nice phone to keep in the pocket for calls/texting and tethering to like a tablet or pmp. Other than that, I really don't see much use for a 3.2 inch screen.

I'm liking this phone and plan. I think it is time for me to abandon T-Mobile and my myTouch 4G. I'm in a 2G area, and an excellent 4G phone does me no good. At least I would get 3G, a simple Android phone, and again, a great priced no contract plan. I will have to start watching XDA and CyanogenMod to see if CM7 will, or can, be flashed onto this device any time soon. Thanks for the review.

seeing it in this video makes me want it even more. its very similar to the optimus and the intercept. definitely a winner for prepaid! =]
