While Google never hesitated in telling folks it was coming, they never said when and now the time has finally arrived. Google+ Pages is now open for businesses and brands alike.  Until now, the focus of Google+ has been on people, and how to connect individuals to each other but as noted on the official Google Blog, Google wants everyone in on the action:

People + pages, better together
Google+ has always been a place for real-life sharing, and Google+ Pages is no exception. After all: behind every page (or storefront, or four-door sedan) is a passionate group of individuals, and we think you should able to connect with them too.

For you and me, this means we can now hang out live with the local bike shop, or discuss our wardrobe with a favorite clothing line, or follow a band on tour. Google+ pages give life to everything we find in the real world. And by adding them to circles, we can create lasting bonds with the pages (and people) that matter most.

There is already quite a few pages set up for folks like The Muppets, Anderson Cooper 360, Macy's, BurBerry, Angry Birds and more so there is plenty of content to look up. Plus, Google has no introduced Direct Connect. You like something? Search for it -- and you can be directly taken to their Google+ Page if you wish. Hit the source link for the full details while we get to work on our own Google+ page.

And with this, I can officially cut the FB cord. fan and product pages were pretty much the only reason i visited any more. it certainly isnt the exciting status updates.
I love going on G+, but until now there hasnt been enough content for me to hang out more than a few mins. I dont want to follow just anyone, and finding the right people can be tough.

I love google plus and have tryed to promote it but it seems like a losing battle. With all the changes fb has made to couner google i just dont see them gaining ground in my circle(no pun)
I have 150 fb friends all of which i have met in person but only 7 or so google plus friends.

Im 32. Maybe it just hasnt reached my demographic yet. After all fb was for college students only just a few years ago.

35 years old.
600 Facebook 'friends'
75 Google+ users with me in their circles.

Unless I am using G+ the wrong way, I find it the last place I look at when I'm online. What's the compelling reason to be there?

As of now, Facebook will give me the status updates I am interested in. Now that doesn't include someone's culinary skills or that someone still wishes it was Sunday, but it's good to be reminded of friends birthdays, kids growing up (to a point), everyone's well being, and general questions that I might be able to help with.

For networking I can always fall back on LinkedIn and Facebook, although I will admit I have not tried it on Google+ yet.

For other forms of media consumption, networking and the occasional status update I can use Twitter and I use Pulse on my Nook Color.

Ultimately what I need is one way to sync all of those sources into one manageable application or website. Until then, I think everyone will just stick with what they know which, for now, is unfortunately Facebook.

I like it too but getting people I actually know to start using it has been a losing battle. (same thing with twitter)
The few that tried it simply never use it and that leaves me to almost never using it.

Maybe for now I can follow the businesses I want
too on G+ and have a more friendly FB feed.

Am I the only one who finds this funny / horrifying? I typically love Google and the things they make, but I'm starting to get creeped out by this. Oceana has always been at war with Eurasia. Oceana has never been at war with Eurasia.

I just created a page for my business. Now, i can't access it anymore for some reason.

Pretty lame that you can only create a Page with a GMail account. I foolishly created a Page with my personal GMail and now when i sign in it takes me directly to my personal Google+ and i can't seem to find a way to gain access to my business page. ugg
