What a pleasant way to start the day. Looks like Google is now starting to ship out pre-orders for the Nexus 7 over here in the UK. Received this morning just before 2am, came my own shipping notice from Google Play confirming that my shiny new Nexus 7 has been shipped.

By my reckoning, it should be arriving on Thursday -- 2 day shipping in mind -- which would sit with the original July 19 date that other, high street retailers, started working to when their initial pre-order pages went up. It does take upto 24 hours for the TNT tracking reference to go live though, so if you've woken to a similar email, bear that in mind as you frantically hit the tracking page.

The question goes out to our friends in the other -- non U.S. -- countries that are still waiting on their Nexus 7 shipments. Hit us up in the comments below and let us know where you are if you've just received the same email.

Update: Looks like we can count our Canadian friends in too, with this statement present on the Google Play support page:

We're now shipping Nexus 7 preorders. All US and Australia preorders are scheduled to ship by July 17th. UK and Canada preorders have also begun shipping in waves.

Google now shipping the Nexus 7 to UK and Canada pre-order customers

OK good to hear that some people in the UK are getting theirs. I have yet to receive notification and as yet Card not charged.

Patiently waiting.

No email yet, but it really isn't a matter of life and death. I'm quite shocked at some of the rabid comments elsewhere - you'd think that Google was abducting customers' children the way some posters are reacting.

Calm down dears.

no email yet either, certainly looking forward to sampling the delights of this wonderful device. I hope that Google are also able to announce that they are launching the currently unavailable half of the Play store in Europe/UK also on the 19th.

Yesterday I called to google customer service. They said me that I would receive an email with my order tracking reference yesterday. I have not receive any email nor news from google yet although my credit card has already been charged. Lack of organization unexpected from a company like google, not angry.. disappointed.

I have't had any communication but my order status on Google Play is showing a Nexus 7 on the 16th July, previously it was only showing on the 28th June when I placed the order.

UK based
I agree...very dissapointed with a company that has been planning this for at least year if not longer - this should have been planned better by the executives
Still no email, still no clear information on when I will get my device...if I get the email on Thursday so probably not till Tuesday.....there is a 99% chance that I will not use Google pre-order again simply on the lack of clear information. I have never known a company - small or large to never give a a delivery date - a specific date or or day or two out.
21 days/ three weeks on thursday since order so if I get this later....is it more than acceptable to ask for my deliver charge back?
Saying all this I am very excited about the N7 and the feedback on the forums generally seems very positive...

Excellent news, no sign of E-mail yet but the day is but young. Received the OTA jelly bean update for the Galaxy nexus last night so a Nexus 7 arriving as well would make the week complete :-)

I bought the Nexus 8GB before the keynote had even finished and haven't received a shipping notice.

I've decided to purchase mine in-store. When do you think PC World/HMV etc will have them in-store for collection?

I ordered mine on the 27th. I received an email last Friday saying it shipped with a tracking number. When I track it via UPS it says it will be delivered this afternoon!

Okay just spoke to a nice man at Google CS and he is claiming that all UK pre-orders should have their N7's by friday....which is good news....waited inline for nearly 50minutes...lets hope they are a company of their word??????

I haven't seen anything yet. Oh well the faster they ship it to me, the faster I can refuse shipment. It's arriving in Canada a full week after retail.

Your Nexus 7 might be shipping in the first ripple but no sign of them for anyone else in the UK.

It's not about the delay. You just don't expect to be at the back of the queue when you go direct to the source weeks in advance, pay for delivery, only to find other 3rd party retailers are quicker and cheaper.

Then you email Google, no reply. Then you telephone Google, no answer. Customer support is zero. God help you if the goods are faulty. There they are the almighty Google, the ultimate search engine, and they can't even find your order and tell you when it's going to be delivered. A joke, no.

I'm never going to make the mistake again. At least at Amazon their customer service is excellent. Google have messed up, should apologise, and compensate those who are out of pocket and without the product due to their non-existent customer service.

Really!! Didn't we all just pre-order them knowing that they would arrive "sometime in Mid-July"? Complain on Friday if you want, but I bet you would have forgotten about it by then because you'll be playing with your new Nexus 7 that turned up about Thursday.

Calm down.

Great to hear that most English-speaking countries are starting to receive their pre-ordered devices. Being located in continental Europe, I'm still waiting for an opportunity to pre-order, even... I wonder when that will happen... :-)

Just to make you jealous ... ordered last Thursday (12th July) and expected to have to wait. Got a shipping email at 2am this morning, and product delivered by 9am. Shame I'm at work ...

Colleague ordered his on 29th June and hasn't had card charged or shipping notice yet. I'm happy, but really think Google should have shipped on a first come first served basis. While my purchase has gone smoothly, it has been characterised by a distinct lack of information, and were I still to be waiting I'd by pretty hacked off.

Annoyed people less impulsive than myself will have their indifference rewarded with a shiny nexus 7 before me. If it doesn't ship tomorrow I won't have it till Monday at least.

I know it's not the end of the world but I still find the lack of information not acceptable for a company the size of Google.

It's 11pm on the 17th here. Ordered on 29/6. Emailed Google 4 times. Called twice. Hopeless. Lied to twice.

No email and no contact.

That's what seems so wrong. Someone like yourself who is clearly passionate about technology and invests a lot of time and money with Google is left twiddling your thumbs.

While someone can saunter down to PCWorld on Thursday and pocket one for a tenner less than we forked out to get it early.

Well it's nice to see Google lying right to US customers faces when plenty of us have not had our orders shipped, and it's the 17th of July.

I haven't been charged, no emails sent to me, and no change on the Play Store.

From Canada, ordered on 9th June, got order receipt mail but no information regarding shipment till now.

Update - I did get that e-mail. It arrived around 1am today. About 4 hours after my shipment notice from Google. Should arrive today!

Well I've now had a shipping notice from Google, but the TNT website has just shown "Delivery date changed as requested by sender or receiver." since 9am this morning. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for delivery tomorrow but not holding out much hope!
