Samsung's Home Monitoring Kit is down to $79.99 on Amazon. This is a really unusual deal because this is a kit that used to go on sale quite often, but it has spent all of 2019 hovering around $150 or more. Most recently it was selling for around $200. Today's drop marks a new low for the kit, too. This is a great deal, but these kits do tend to sell out when they drop in price.
Comes with the hub you need to connect wirelessly to smart devices. Includes two multipurpose sensors for windows and doors, a motion sensor to detect unexpected movement, and a smart plug to control small appliances from anywhere.

The Home Monitoring kit comes with everything you need for some simple home security. It comes with a SmartThings Hub, two multipurpose sensors, a motion sensor, and a smart outlet. This is an older kit so it uses the 2nd-generation hub instead of the more current 3rd-generation SmartThings hub. That won't matter much in this case, though. The key here is you need a hub to unite all the sensors together and control them together.
This is a modular kit, which means you can use the included sensors, but you can also continue to add more. The individual pieces are relatively inexpensive, too. Add a new multipurpose sensor for just $25 or even something new like an indoor security camera for $89. There are a ton of options for this system to ensure you can monitor everything you want.
Once you have all your devices up and working, you can use the SmartThings app or a smart home system like Amazon's Alexa to control it all. Monitor your home, receive alerts on your phone, and set up routines and schedules. Design your home to work the way you want it to. Tired of flipping switches? Get the lights to turn on or off every time you open or close a door. Got kids sneaking out at night? Get a ding on your phone whenever the window opens. Sneaky kids. The possibilities are endless.
