In Short

IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) is an annual consumer electronics show held in Berlin, Germany, which often serves as a launch event for mobile products heading into the holiday buying season and the beginning of the next year. Think of it as a mini version of Mobile World Congress. This is where we've often seen Samsung dominate with the release of its yearly Galaxy Note model, but since moving away from IFA launches we've seen a more diverse set of news in tablets, smartwatches, mid-range phones, accessories and more.

This year’s event officially runs from Sept. 4-9, with the official media days leading up to it — so look for coverage to really kick off starting Sept 1 or 2.

While press events typically take place around the city in the lead up to IFA, much of the action will center on Messe Berlin, the massive event venue that plays host to the show. Android Central will be on the ground at IFA to bring you full coverage of the show's events. Keep watching this page for all the latest developments!
