The Simpsons

Earlier in the week we saw the Dutch branch of EA launch The Simpsons: Tapped Out to a limited audience, and tonight it seems to be available for everyone else. Loosely based on the show that's been on TV forever, The Simpsons: Tapped Out is part Sim City mixed in, a dash of Farmville, and a tiny bit of Mafia Wars. Mix this all together and you have the makings of a decent game.

Progress your way through the missions to rebuild Springfield after a small "accident" down at the power plant, collecting XP, cash and donuts along the way. The gameplay is great on the Nexus 10, with smooth animations and no stuttering. I've been playing it a couple hours and have had a good time doing it.

The app is free (of course in-app purchases are there if you like) and various versions exist for multiple devices in Google Play. From the comments it looks very well supported on a myriad of different devices, and it installed and runs well on all the phones and tablets I've tried it on. Hit the Google Play link above and give it a shot. The game trailer is after the break.

Update: This release seems to have broken the earlier version available in Europe here. It's a shame the launch of an excellent game was ruined like this. All I can suggest is to keep trying, and if we hear anything from EA I'll let everyone know.

Can't install... Not comaptible with Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 or Asus Transformer. Just the Nexus then? Or is it only a market error that I'm getting?

Love my job, since I've been bringing in $5600… I sit at home, music playing while I work in front of my new iMac that I got now that I'm making it online.(Click Home information)

how did you get it to update as i have it on mine but can't get it 2 update and the auto update is not working???

Works fine on my T-Mo S3.

Can't understand what is enjoyable about the game yet. All I have been permitted to do has been to click on things they tell me to click on. Tapping on things they force you to tap on, then reading small text that you don't care to read.

FYI to those who claim it's not compatible with there phone or even there tablet. I've got it installed on my Thunderbolt and my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Don't give up if it says not compatible

How did you get the APK? Using apk downloader or is there a better way?

EDIT: OK, got it... XDA. UTFG.

I have it installed on my HTC one x and Nexus 10. Straight from the Play store on each device.

In the UK, says incompatible with my:
Nexus 4
T20 tablet
HTC Desire
Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy S3 Mini

I am ready to break down and cry. I really want to play this but it's not available in the UK yet :'(

Guys,

It works on Nexus 7 and GS3 as I have it on both.

The only peeve I have is why they left out Origin support.

This app is incompatible with your Xperia S.

Just got a Sony Xperia SP and it says "Your Device isn't compatible with this version"? Someone help? x

Those in the UK can download the APK file. Just google it. I downloaded it and scanned for malware. Works fine. I am in London using an American Moto Photon. Just installed and its working just fine.

Forgive my ignorance but how do I turn off the homer notifications? I had all notifications set to vibrate or silent - only way to seem to make homer be quiet is to turn OFF ringer as well IE no vibration. HTC Rezound. Some searching indicates that this has been an issue on the apple version as well.

Having the same problem here. :/ I just went into system Settings > Application Manager > Tapped Out and unchecked the little box that says "Show notifications" (right under 'Force Stop' button). We'll see how that works.
