Google mobile election center

All US citizens who are of age should be prepared to go out and cast a ballot come Election Day, and Google just made it a bit easier with their mobile election center site for Android and iOS.  Head to m.google.com/elections on your phone, enter your address and Google will help you find your official polling place, and track your local and the national elections.

Remember, if you don't vote, you don't get to complain about the winners.  [Google Mobile Blog]

I'm an election judge. This is going to be useful for the occasional person who comes in and doesn't know where to vote. Yah we have an old school precinct finder where you find the person's address in the THICK book, but this'll be faster.

Tried on my phone and computer and does not work.

Oh Lawdy, I foresee conservative media bemoaning this as a liberal attempt to get Dems out to vote. Just the same as they whine when people get picked up to go to the voting places.

cea1203 says:

Uhh for your information Google itself could not possibly be more far left than it is !!! Trust me conservatives like myself already know exactly where to go to vote the left out of office for good

Refresh my recollection: Who was in office when the economic downturn hit...? As an independent, I'm voting for the Dems. It's not that I like Democrats so much. It's that I hate Republicans so much... Honestly, I hate politics. All the parties do is fight against each other and nothing gets done.

I'll refresh your recollection - the Dems were in office and in control of the purse from 2006 when things started to bottom out. O forgot to mention that with all the finger pointing I guess, Mr."Independent".

The app is a nice thing to have, if you didn't get your registration location for some reason.

And let's go farther back in time when the congress and Carter passed the laws to allow people who cannot afford a house to purchase a house. Then go to the future to Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd and their doings with Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. The bust of the housing market is a major factor in the economic collapse and they are linked to Demos.

But, I voted Friday and voted for one Democrat who is very moderate, and one of the blue dogs. Like many others, I don't vote parties, I vote people.

Like I say, I did not vote for GW, I voted against Al and JFK. I voted against Obama. I sure hope someday, I get to vote for someone vs. voting against someone.

As for Obama, he can keep my change NOW, after my health care costs go up the first of the year, I won't have any more to send him.

As for this program by Google. Nice idea, but maybe cause I live in the middle of nowhere, it can't find my address.

While we are using the way back machine lets also remember that its the Republicans and their hatred for ANY government oversight that put Fanny and Freddie in the position of being able to do whatever the hell they want. Your selective memory is amusing. Government oversight is needed in a market that is driven by sharholders not by consumers. Once upon a time Fanny and Freddie had oversight. Guess who removed those?

khelek says:

Yes, let's use the Way Back Machine:

NYT Article,2003: "New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae" (http://goo.gl/fDeD). From said article:
The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

And from Barney Frank (D-soon to be unemployed)?
"These two entities—Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac—are not facing any kind of financial crisis," said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. "The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."

cea1203 says:

Typical Democrat !! blame Bush for all there mistakes . the collapse began when the dems took over congress , go to you tube and look up republicans warn against housing collapse and see the warnings issued from republicans to dems and watch barney Frank say that Fannie and freddy are finacially sound !!! these warning came in 2001 and 2003 and 2004 , ignored by dems , better yet here is the link . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMnSp4qEXNM, far left and radical left and the Unions all have to go !! this is what is bringing the demise of America as we all once knew it , , the recovery begins November 2

Your an idiot Dude. Yes...the collapse of the economy occure the minute they took over. Literally the minute they took over. BAM...downhill. Not in the 8 years of Shrub doing NOTHING but play "War President". The man was an idiot. He is the leader of the country. He makes policy and steers the country and he was the one who did NOTHING to keep this from happening. Obama has 8 years of idiocy to clean up. Its that simple. Lets also look at the surplus that Bush inherited and who basically dropped us in a hole. People complain about Obama's spending. Guess what? When you are hemorrhaging blood you don't put a bandaid on it, you put a tourniquet on. Likewise when you are in a full on recession you don't simply drop interest rates (Something that was bush's one and only solution.) You spend money to restart the economy. Which is starting to occur now. But again. Do you know how long it took to recover from the great depression? It wasn't overnight. I figure by mid 2012 we should start seeing real recovery. But of course the Repubs will NEVER say that its because we actually started pumping money into this country again...no that is socialist talk. How dare you!

Want to know where to go vote? Look at your voter registration card.

Your spam catcher has gone berserk. Fix it guys.

Even mentioning google dot com gets you bounced.

On our favorite search engine home page (no, not bing), did you notice that if you tap more, one of the things you see in that list of searchable items is Android Apps?

chilimac02 says:

I already went and voted for Libertarians (and Repubs when no Libertarians were listed). I second the idea of checking one's voter card for the polling place.

Yet, this app may be useful for tracking results...

There are great apps on Android that deal with Politics and voting. Check this out this article: http://exm.nr/aEawmr

Bah elections are such a waste. All it is two or more parties mudslinging and badmouthing each other the whole time. All you see on TV and hear on radios is mudslinging. They never really say what they are gonna do for us.

Can I vote for Google this year instead, please.. lol.
