Android Central App

We've had more than a few folks ask us to bring the official Android Central App to iOS. And, frankly, we'd be happy to do it. Unfortunately, any attempts to do so have been thwarted. And, so, we're Android-only ... for now. We've got a few ideas, though, and maybe iOS isn't the only other route to go. More on that later, though.

For now, be sure to check out the latest version of the official Android Central App. And swing by our downloads section for more ways to keep up with the latest Android news while you're at it!

Ignore him... he has nothing better to do besides bitch about his gs4 and chrome. Do us all a favor and get a different phone ridgeline.

You do... We gotta work on that

All I did was point out something wasn't whining. But you guys are too busy feeling big and bad behind a keyboard to figure that out. Pathetic

Isn't icloud Apple? I'm just asking before you bite my head off. Maybe if you used a android based cloud service with an Android phone it would work more streamlined.

Tried it don't work. Before thinking you know everything jerkoff find out what your talking about. Who gives a shit about what apple does!! Talk about whiny little nerds.

Actually it's apple blocking the user-agent for android. All the android browsers can handle it just fine. Apple is just being slimy

I don't know why some other members are ragging you about this. I'm using ATT GS4 running 4.4.2 and can access icloud just fine through Chrome. You appear to have a valid issue, whether anyone else recognizes it or not. Since I don't have the problem, and can't duplicate it on my S4, I can't offer any more constructive advice than to continue to pursue this if it's important to you. Good luck!

As a cross platform user and a general tech fan, I'd love to have a Mobile Nations app that I could use to access ALL the network sites. I use a Note 3, Nexus 7, iPad Mini, and an iPod Touch. I would love to get everything in one place on each.

I'd even pay for that App if it included good Podcast replay features.

There is gonna be a way to get to AC via the iOS iMore app. :-)

How come you guys keep pushing to put an Android Central App on iOS, but I can't get a fricken' iMore app on Android.... and that would be allowed.

Choice is good. Apple denies it. If I want an iPhone I should be able to get an app if I want

Maybe more Android users want it on their Android devices than iOS users want Android Central on their iOS devices?

I'd prefer either one mobile nations app to cover all or have all the individual ones on every store.

Wait, iOS market really won't approve this application when there are tons of other "Android" named things. Your podcasts on are there so why not your application?

You should put it up on Cydia. I imagine most of the iphone people that want to keep up on Android are either lame trolls, in which case no harm done, or people feeling constrained by iphone - so perhaps they've jailbroken and can install it there.

I feel constrained by my iPad mini but I don't want to void my warranty, I've started to use it less and less as one of my favourite games was ported to android

That's probably up to the iMore team. If they wanted an app, it'd be approved with no issues.

I am pretty sure you don't have to be breaking any rules. Apple can dictate whatever is in their App Store, if they don't want it they don't have to give you a reason why they denied your submission.

Apple does this because it has Android or DROID in the name. That is why they reject it. Get around it (for forums anyway) by running tapatalk.

Apple cant handle the competition or they just dont want to support an application that actually loves android. it might be a sin to the apple religion. HAHA. apple you crack me up.

Why not make a responsive web app. That way you don't have to get it approved by the iFolks. With the right set-up, you can even put it on the home screen with it's own icon.

Not sure why AC would want their app on Apple phones unless they had something to gain from it? I mean it's called android central for a reason, it's not Apple central?

Some of us like both iOS and Android. Even when I sold my S4 and went back to iPhone, I wanted to know what was going on in the android world. These boards on iOS made me consider and buy the Moto X, and I love it.
I was one of those that asked for this app on iOS. I have both iPhone and Moto.

I can't believe that. Why on earth would they not allow a news app? If they are seriously blocking it because it is about Android than that is just as bad as a propaganda. That might sound dramatic but whatever, that is pathetic. More reason to choose Android.

Regardless of what platform I'm using at the time, I always like to see what the other guys are doing. Typical Apple.

Not for nothing who cares. Before I had an android os device I would just read your site on the ipad and iPhone. Not like the app matters. Just makes it easier for people who have true interest to post on the forums

Now if Android would only handle Android Central links with the app. Google Plus and Reddit Sync do it.

Wish Android News app would properlydefault to the mobile version of AC like it does w all the others :/

Couldn't android central app be downloaded through amazon market place for ios?

Posted via Android Central App

Isn't not allowing the AC app on iOS like not allowing you to bring your own food to a restaurant? I'm all Android all the time, but just don't see anything"wrong" with Apple not allowing it. Other than fear, stupidity, childishness & putting off the inevitable.

This is a smart move by apple. They're completely right in doing this because why would they want news about all the new android flagships being read on an app easily by their users? It would drive their business down by a lot...

I was happy with my iphone until I started doing research into other flagship devices. It was then and only then that I realized that the iphone was total garbage. Compared to the HTC One and the Galaxy S4 the iphone looks like a 2010 flagship. It's sad really that apple has to be this defensive about keeping their consumers in the dark about the truly "smart"phones out there today rather than spend that time and money making a better product and not releasing the same crap every year.

You can get at least halfway there with either a good, responsive web design or, even better, using something like BraveNewCode's WPTouch Pro to make your site a web-app. Since it's not an actual app, but behaves like one in just about every way that counts, you can let iPhone-bound folks still read about the latest and greatest Android, without Apple blocking it.

You can always go the "paid webapp" iSheeple seem to like that sort of thing, just look how popular Me In My Place is. Bad example?
