AP Mobile

For you news junkies who love the Associated Press but loathed their Android app, be aware that it's been completely redesigned and is now available. This one's for Android 4.0 and up, but you get some new features along with the new tiled design.

The same old banner ads are there, though — we'd love to see an option to buy out of them. But for now, this is a much better app than it was a week ago. Give it a look-see.

The old app was.. not great. It's what pushed me over to the news360 app. Glad to see the refresh, looks promising.

Both of them are just another app for the reading impaired, who can't understand the news unless it comes with pictures. Anyone old enough to buy a smartphone is old enough to read without pictures.

The news is not a comic book.

I'd say anyone old enough to buy a smartphone is also old enough not to shit on someone's preferred way of accessing information.

So I'm guessing you never read magazines, newspapers... or AC for that matter?

Posted from my pure Google Nexus 4 using the AC app.

Not compatible with Nexus 7 and don't see a separate tablet version. :-/ Unless it's due to KiKat which...seriously? (Doubt so from the screenshot)

Looks better, but AP seems to have killed breaking news notifications with the new version.

No landscape mode. Kinda lame for my N7 but oh well.

i dont remember why anymore, but the old app was unusable for me.

I was wondering if any one knows how to get push notifications from this app with breaking news updates like the iPhone version does?

It doesn't seem like this new version has the feature. Hopefully it will soon.

Banner ads? No thanks.

The nexus 7 isn't supported. Really hate when apps don't support the one device that should be easy to support (at least you'd think it is).
