Samsung has announced that government agencies in both China and France have certified KNOX for use by regulated industries. Having its secure platform certified in new markets means Samsung will be able to push forward with forming contracts with government authorities, as well as parties previously locked behind regulated access.
Following certification in the UK, Samsung and authorities deployed the latest Galaxy hardware for testing. Dr. Injong Rhee, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D, Software and Services, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, commented on the announcement:
"Samsung KNOX is unmatched in its ability to deliver trusted mobile security across an all-encompassing robust platform. Our market leadership, innovative technology and worldwide government certification is second to none, and we look forward to giving more people the opportunity to operate mobility with complete safety."
The company will be able to work with partners to roll out Samsung mobile devices to employees with KNOX security and protection already enabled as soon as the smartphones are turned on. The latest certification in China and France joins several more in the cabinet, including from the UK, US, Finland and Russia.
