The Samsung Flow Beta has landed in Google Play, letting you move your work between compatible Samsung devices while on the go.
Samsung first introduced Flow back at its Samsung Developer Conference 2014, and the app has now made its way to Google Play in beta form. What Flow does is allow users to move content between Samsung devices, so they can complete the work on the best fit device. With Flow users can:
- Transfer an activity to the right device for a task. Pick up right where you left off rather than starting from scratch on the new device.
- Defer an activity when the right device is not immediately at hand or there just isn't enough time to finish up a task. Resume it when you're ready.
Flow will work with existing applications using Android's share menu, and developers can provide Flow actions in their apps to create an even better experience for users. This works similarly to Apple's Continuity feature, except that Continuity is fully automatic, while Flow requires the user to initiate the transfer to the other device.
Support is somewhat limited at this time, with only a select number of Samsung devices being compatible. Those devices are the Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, and Galaxy Tab S. Samsung Flow Beta is available now in Google Play as a free download.
