Although the Beats Music app wasn't the best out of the gates, they've realized some of the growing the pains along the way and listened to user feedback. A new update pushing through Google Play right now brings some requested social features but more importantly improvements to the music player, offline storage and music downloading, and of course, the usual list of 'bug fixes'. We've got the full changelog for you.

  • A brand spanking new widget
  • Find your friends feature lets you find your friends and follow your Facebook friends on Beats Music
  • Ability to link and unlink your Twitter and Facebook accounts
  • New Tracks available in The Sentence
  • Offline mode and downloading improvements
  • Player fixes

If you're a Beats music subscriber, you should find the update available now. Once you get it downloaded, let us know how it's working out for you. You can also check out our initial review of the service if you're still wondering if it's worth your time and money.

How is Beats Audio app compared to, say, Google Music? I have yet to try it and am curious what everyone thinks.

I kept both for a while because I had the less expensive intro rate for Google play music all access. I just recently cancelled all access because I like Beats so much. I find that when I know just what I want to listen to they work equally well, but I love the more diverse curated options in beats. Just waiting for an app that works better for my iPad air.

I like the fact the image shows HTC's head phones rather then Beats head phones. :-)
