Bookseller Barnes and Noble is trying to revamp its Nook brand with a new app that will allow users to purchase and download selections from a large library of audiobooks. The app now available in the Google Play Store with an offer of two free audiobooks from a select list of titles.
Here are the features of the Nook audiobook app:

- Blockbuster new titles, including 41: A Portrait of My Father by George W. Bush, Revival by Stephen King, and Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult, available at unbeatable prices just in time for the holidays.
- Commitment-free listening: For the casual reader who might listen to only a few books per year or who is interested in simply trying audiobooks for the first time.
- Free samples – try it before you buy: Most audiobooks are available to sample.
The two free audiobooks for new users can be selected from a list that includes Charlotte's Web by E.B. White, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Seabiscuit by Lauren Hillenbrand.
In related news, Barnes and Noble will lower the prices for its two Samsung Galaxy Nook tablets from Friday to Sunday. During that time, the cost of the 7-inch tablet will go down from $179.99 to $149.99 while the 10-inch tablet's price will be reduced from $319.99 to $249.99.
