Samsung David Eun

Samsung is selling 1 million mobile devices every day, executive vice president David Eun announced this morning at the Samsung Developers Conference at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. That's phones, tablets — any and all things mobile.

Now the trick is to get them all talking to each other.

"We know many of these devices and screens are connected," Eun said. "This is largely due to the fact that some 40 percent of the population connects to the internet. We hope to build along with you one of the largest platforms in the world for content, services, apps and ads. We call this the connoted home, and the connected life."

Plain and simple nothing beats Samsung period they are android. Market share proves all and shows this dominance since 2011.

When you leave out your house everyday in small town or big town usa all you see is Galaxy devices or iphones period..

At the end of the day what people say or the comments they leave mean nothing on these sites. What matters is sales and market share and Samsung owns this space period.

1. Just a few short years ago, it was Apple who dominated in smartphone market share and HTC in the Android world. Now look where they both are. You of all people who claimed to have been "pushing up on" HTC should know that market share means next to nothing when it can change relatively quickly.
2. I don't know about you, but I don't "leave out" my house. I either leave it, or I go out. Also, I've seen quite a few other phones from other manufacturers. Just because that's what *you* see every day, does not make it a universal truth.

Never at anytime and I mean NEVER has Apple ever dominated the smartphone arena, First was Nokia (Symbian), The Blackberry, Then it was and has been Android granted they had a bigger marketshare but they never achieved the number one spot

I like Samsung phones. But there is something about owning a phone you don't see every day that has its merits too.

Vanilla has its uses and pluses. Skins take a great thing and make it better.

I don't want to hear it is ugly, it can be covered.

I don't want to hear it is slow, my N3 will smoke ya.

Give me a plus that a Nexus has over the N3 outside the Nexus gets to beta test for me.

Zero interest in a device that size. The note doesn't exist in my world for that reason.

Ok I will put a g2 up against it and still win. I would say moto x but I didn't carry it enough

Completely subjective, the implementation of quick setting in Touchwiz is quite atrocious and plenty of people would prefer to have 4GB of extra space over Golf mode Camera & ChatOn.

OK really i can do more, quicker with the skin, either tw or sense, than vanilla

NovaWiz says:

I can do all that extra stuff with Xposed framework + Gravity Box, no custom ROM needed. On the other hand I can have stock AOSP and not having 4 extra GB of bloat I never have a use for.

Apps on SD is not that viable, especially Games.
Not everyone enjoy to be suffocated by "features" like you.

I have been to Touchwiz SAMOLED Land before, but never again.

Really check again. With Samsung it isn't apps to SD but switching SD to internal. Last I checked 64>16

I honestly don't get the ubiquitous hate for TouchWiz.

Yes - it can be cartoonish at times and the stock launcher isn't great, but it adds a ton of great functionality.

MultiScreen, S-Pen, Pen-Window, DLNA with ease, camera features and on and on.

In a perfect world we'd have all those features in stock Android, but that's not the case.

NoNexus says:

Perfectly said.

Absolutely perfect

My S-Pen went through hell to deliver this important message to you

My hate is not only the cartoonish and gimmicks but the LAG! I will take vanilla all day long, touchwiz seems too bogged down.

Posted via Android Central App

NoNexus says:

S4 had it but it is gone. Sgs3 and note 3 no lag at all.

Facts, they suck don't they?

----------------------------------------------------
My S-Pen went through hell to deliver this important message to you

Facts? That's laughable, so what I have experienced is excluded by your "facts"! I get it!

NoNexus says:

Yes you are so right, but I must ask. In what phone and what were you doing when you experienced this lag.

I would like to prove you right by duplicating the issue

----------------------------------------------------
My S-Pen went through hell to deliver this important message to you

NoNexus says:

I can point to to where the lag is gone, or greatly diminished, by independent writers on the S4. It never existed on the sgs3 or Note 3.

I want to hear your experience to prove you right

----------------------------------------------------
My S-Pen went through hell to deliver this important message to you

You guys can defend the lag all you like. I'm fine with your opinions that the lag is not there or enough to disturb your experience. I am just stating the reasons I hate touchwiz, it's not buttery enough for my user experience.

Every time I walk into a phone store they have the latest Samsung on display. They lag really badly and non-demo units are only slightly better. Stock is faster and looks more finished rather than...touchwiz

MERCDROID says:

Yeah, when I had the S3 on Verizon, it was one of the best experiences I had. I didn't mind Touchwiz; I actually loved the UX.

I love vanilla Android. But, I can understand, why some people don't prefer it. Both, Touchwiz and Sense have come a long way, too.

Artvandelay has it spot on, and sums it up in a short and apt package. I cant add anymore other than what i have yet to experiance in owning the S3, S4, Mega and now the note 3 any heavy lag that is of any importence that is dissrupting my daily life or enjoyment of the devices i have mentioned.

Meant to reply to NoNexus.

Duncan1982 says:

Well honestly i dont run the stock launcher and im on smart, that said i didnt notice any lag and this Note 3 or any of my previous Galaxys tbh so im yet to experiance the Lag in question. I havnt owned any other device to make a comparison however so im sure some may have had that less than silky smooth experiance. But i have enjoyed my touchwiz experiance and always been fast enough for me.

NoNexus says:

When th e sgs4 first came out I did notice it for the short time I had it. After the update it was gone.

Saying it had it is valid. Saying it still does is hateraide

Duncan1982 says:

I think its down to personal experiance and many contributing factors perhaps, but that lag just wasnt there in my experiance, I could jump in and out of apps back to the homescreen, open up the camera take a snap back to the homescreen, into my app's with no noticable lag in my opinion.

Posted via Android Central App

Taz89 says:

Exactly the early versions of tw on the s4 did have some noticeable lag ie skipping frames in transition animations etc but since the app2sd update I have personally not had any performance issues.. I am using nova launcher so maybe that's why I have had no issues..

Posted via Android Central App

rampage1979 says:

Nova launcher is awesome and can make any phone run smoothly, it's funny that a launcher can do it but some oem skins can't.

Posted via Android Central App

NovaWiz says:

In a perferct world all of those features would be supported but not included stock android, but only added if the user actually have a use for it.

Pile features that have only appeal to a few users is no way to make something user friendly. Having to add a "Easy Mode" is a good indication that your version of Android is too bloated.

Duncan1982 says:

Hmmm adding the easymode is aimed at those who are new to smartphones and therefore require that ease of use, whats bloated to some is convienient to others. Its a debate that doesnt have an end point as all are entitled to express personal opinion and that doesnt reflect on my views

rampage1979 says:

Don't want dlna stock android comes with slimport /mhl and miracast for a true multiscreen experience.

Duncan1982 says:

Think i may have been on this debate about touchwiz, perhaps on another forum or topic, but yeh it maybe of the looney tunes veriety however they are brilliant cartoons, ok im not saying touchwiz is brilliant but it has alot of pro's and i havnt noticed the heavy kag that has been mentioned.

I however have opted for smart launcher and the xperia theme which i enjoy, was running novo which is great.

Touchwiz is not as bad as some say here and on other tech apps and forums.

Jlav78 says:

Every time I see a galaxy phone I just want to take the phone off them, install a launcher and Google keyboard and give it back.

Taz89 says:

Yep the Samsung keyboard is ugly looking and launcher isn't bad, just the icons are too cartoony hence why I use nova launcher get the stock look with the tw features.. Imo best of both

Posted via Android Central App

Duncan1982 says:

Bring on Tizen to end this debate lol its personal opinion- and one that i cant argue in terms of appearence as i run Smart Launcher. But the Lag issue i will argue as i dont have it and never experianced it.

Posted via Android Central App

NoNexus says:

No. Why? What does it it do that Android doesn't? There is no reason for android to really fragment, just realize there are pluses all the way around

And to add its there but come on its for complete novices eg the elderly, touchwiz is not complicated in my opinion.
