LG Plans to Launch Three Android Phones in 2009

Posted on Wednesday, Jun 17, 2009 by Casey Chan

We've heard about LG and Android before, but not quite like this. In an interview with Dow Jones Newswires, Chang Ma, VP of marketing strategy for mobile communications, said that LG is planning to release up to three Android Phones later this year. We're nearly at the halfway point of 2009 so LG's Android product line should be announced soon.

Though details are incredibly vague, we have no idea on form factor, specs, or anything, one thing is for sure: Let's hope it's not the resurrected plain 'ol LG device that was rumored to go Android months back.

The "plain Ol LG device" was just (or is soon to be) released on AT&T. It doesn't run android but basically the same old LG UI that is seen on the Vu. I work at Best Buy Mobile and we got the phones in stock yesterday.

Hope one of these three LG devices goes to Verizon, preferably a "Google Experience" sort of phone - though I'm not hopeful for that. I'm due for an upgrade in December and I hope to have a better choice of phones by then.
