What you need to know

  • T-Mobile is launching T-Mix, which replaces pre-packaged plans with a credits system called Picks, so you spend on what you actually use.
  • Plans include Standard ($55/month, 1 Pick), More ($75/month, 2 Picks), and Loaded ($95/month, 3 Picks) for a single line.
  • Picks can be spent on services like Netflix, Apple TV, Xbox Game Pass, DashPass, Google Gemini, or applied toward new device promos.
  • Customers can change their subscription lineup every three months, though unused Picks do not roll over and out-of-window changes incur fees.

T-Mobile is giving customers more control over their wireless plans with a new lineup called T-Mix, which allows you to select which subscriptions and add-ons come with your monthly bill.

The service, unveiled October 26, launches in November in three tiers, letting customers trade unwanted perks for services they actually use instead of settling for another carrier’s pre-packaged bundle.

The new line-up includes T-Mix Standard for $55/month, T-Mix More for $75, and T-Mix Loaded for $95 on a single line. All three prices require AutoPay and exclude taxes and fees. Each plan comes with a set number of credits, called Picks, that customers can spend on eligible subscriptions, wireless features, and phone promos.

These choices include a surprisingly broad array of services. You can put your Picks toward Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, Apple Music, YouTube Premium, Pandora, SiriusXM, Paramount+, Xbox Game Pass, ESPN Unlimited, DoorDash DashPass, Google Gemini, or Delta SkyMiles.

T-Mobile is also letting customers use Picks on device promos, which could mean a new phone as part of their benefits mix.

How many Picks you get depends on your plan: Standard has one, More has two, and Loaded has three per line, within plan limits. The higher the tier, the more options you have to add benefits. The most expensive plan is not necessarily the best deal if you won't be using the extra benefits.

T-Mix also addresses one of the biggest annoyances with bundled wireless perks: being stuck with benefits that no longer fit your lifestyle. Customers can normally change their chosen partner benefits every three months with an additional annual change window.

Some wireless benefits, including T-Satellite, can be changed at any time. However, unused Picks don’t carry over, and some benefits may incur a fee when changed outside of an eligible window.

The plans will feature the typical T-Mobile perks, such as T-Mobile Tuesdays, hotel and rental-car perks, and access to special events. The carrier says customers on the Loaded tier, on average, get at least $120 per month in value per line.

T-Mix could make subscription bundles more useful, particularly for households trying to juggle streaming, gaming, and delivery memberships. But its popularity will hinge on how easy T-Mobile makes the Pick system to grasp. Flexibility is nice; having to do subscription math just to pick a phone plan, less so.
