Ever heard of Kazam? No? The British handset vendor created by ex-HTC staffers has announced that it is launching a device with a thickness of just 5.15 mm in Europe. Dubbed Tornado 348, the device features a 4.8-inch 720p display that's backed by a one year replacement guarantee for the screen.
If the 5.15 mm thickness sounds familiar, it is because Kazam's Tornado 348 is a rebranded version of Gionee's Elife S5.1, which is set to go on sale in China and India later this year. Gionee is focusing on emerging markets, which is why the manufacturer is content with selling its handsets as a white label vendor in other territories.
As far as the specs are concerned, the Tornado 348 comes with an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 CPU, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 8 MP camera at the back, 5 MP front shooter, 2,050 mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Overall dimensions of the device include 139.80 x 67.40 x 5.15 mm.
The handset will go on sale in the UK from November for £250 ($400), and will be available in black and white color variants.
What do you guys think of the device? Anyone interested in buying the Tornado 348 once it launches?
