Where's Waldo?

Google has updated their Google Play support page for questions about Nexus 7 order and delivery, and have given some solid shipping dates. All orders placed before July 13 will be processed and shipped "soon". Here's the breakdown for orders from the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia:

  • In the US: We’ve shipped all standalone Nexus 7 8GB orders (e.g.: those without a case, charger or Nexus Q). By the end of day on July 19 (PDT), we will have shipped all standalone Nexus 7 16GB orders placed through July 11 (PDT), and upgraded these orders to overnight shipping. We will process the remaining standalone Nexus 7 16GB orders by the end of next week with overnight shipping.
  • If you ordered your tablet with a case, charger or Nexus Q, your Nexus 7 will ship this week with overnight shipping, in some cases ahead of the rest of your order. But don’t worry, the rest of your order will be on its way soon.
  • In Canada: We’ve shipped all Nexus 7 8GB orders. We are in the process of shipping Nexus 7 16GB orders and will ship them in 1-2 weeks.
  • In the UK: All Nexus 7 8GB orders will ship by July 20 (BST). All Nexus 7 16GB orders placed through June 30 (BST), will ship by July 20 (BST). The remaining Nexus 7 16GB orders will ship next week.
  • In Australia: All Nexus 7 8GB and Nexus 7 16GB orders will be fulfilled by the end of day on July 19 (AEST) and will arrive in 3-5 days.

Remember, this only applies to orders placed on or before July 13 If this applies to you, and you don't get your Nexus 7 according to this timeline, you're directed to call Google support at 1-855-83-NEXUS (63987).

While you wait, there's always the Nexus 7 forums. Why wait alone?

Seriously though, congrats for making it through this. Now I know what people waiting for the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon felt like. Haha.

Wow, glad I didn't get the 16 GB. You really screwed up on pre-orders, Google. Next time you release something I think I'll just buy it retail. Judging on this release I'll get it faster and save on shipping :/

+1. At this point, Google should just throw in free overnight shipping and refund the shipping charge to people who pre-ordered nexus 7 around last week of June. Other people who ordered it on July 13, 2012 already got their Nexus 7, what is the point to have pre-order at all? Google, hire Amazon to manage your shipping department, b/c you s*uck at it.

I seriously have to agree on the reimbursement of the shipping charge. I ordered mine on June 27th. Its only fair.

I pre-ordered my 16GB unit within minutes of the I/O announcement. It arrived today. The screen is jacked up and they said it'd take a couple of days for them to get back with me to arrange a replacement. $14 shipping in order to be days AFTER B&M stores AND got a defective unit as well. Judging from what the CSR asked and told me, they had a bad lot. Do they have umpires inspecting these at the factory?

I preordered last Friday afternoon on 13th, live on the East coast NYC, and just got it today!
I'm happy at least.. feel bad for everyone else... I Dont see why Google is having so much trouble with shipping

Sent with my NEW Nexus 7

$19 shipping in Canada. It's already a week late after retail. Now they are saying another 1-2 weeks?

Wow.

I'm glad I picked one up on Saturday at Staples. Who knows when my pre-order will come. I'll just be refusing shipment now. And I ordered on the 28th.

Can you be specific on what pages are too small to read? Because most pages or apps you can zoom in on, or change the font size. Otherwise people are going to think you're just trolling.

Well, the size combined with the resolution does pose readability issues for some of us. It isn't really a problem for many apps, but stuff like facebook, and some others which aren't zoomable is pretty tough to read. The actual e-reader programs are fine.

I actually bought it for my parents, so I am hoping they don't have problems when I give to them (after setting up and playing with it of course :-\ )

I really do like the size for ease of carrying around and holding though. Much more comfortable to use than my Transformer Prime. Seems to work better too! (although I have had a couple ANRs and lockups - hoping those are just minor bugs that get worked out.)

Had a pretty frightening one trying to set up the email widget. The tablet quit responding and flashed on and off. Finally was able to get it to soft reset.

It's nice that they said something now but this should have said this on friday. They totally botched this launch. They can learn a lot from amazon or apple as they are not fail boats at launching new hardware. I for one will not be pre-order hardware again from google.

It's bullshit a friend of mine who ordered after me is playing with his new tablet and I don't even have an email. The best they can do is upgrade my shipping to overnight. Wow, thanks google. I ordered before the conference even started. That will never happen again.

Let me guess, Apple has a patent on proper launches?

Let me guess, you've never bought an Apple product at launch? My cousin had to wait a couple of weeks for her iPad 2 from Apple's website while her brother got his the same day after waiting in line at the store for a couple of hours.

That pretty unusual, i never heard no one say they got a delayed pre-order shipment from Apple.. if you pre-orded a iPad on the day the site went live you usually have a great chance of getting it the day it launches along with everyone else.. Google just needs to stop trying to challenge amazon. The Play store is great, Buying devices from the play store? living hell.. Even with the Galaxy Nexus.. One min it ships 1-2 Business days.. next it ships 1-2 weeks.. than 3-4 weeks.. then its out of stock... Google only handled the Nexus One great

UK - received shipped email 15 minutes ago.

2 day delivery from Dublin, so sometime Friday hopefully it will be in my hot hands.

No quibbles with Google, provided the 16GB tablet arrives in perfect condition. They have kept their word on original delivery window.

As for Brick & Mortar stores. I bet they were instructed not to sell before all the Play store units were delivered, but in these harsh economic times, some of them chose to jump the gun.

Calm down people, relax and enjoy your N7 when it arrives.

For me it's not that they were in B&M stores first, it's that I (who ordered mid-keynote) haven't gotten anything more than the automated email updating me on the status of the N7 preorder while many who ordered after me already have their tablets in hand.

How does it make sense to run this preorder in any way other than FIFO?

UK - no email yet....will wait till midday...I ordered on the 28th....feeling slight unease at the fact that they might forgotten all about me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

placed my order on the 28th and finally got my email:

I ordered my Nexus 7 yesterday (7/20, no pre-order) and received an email two hours later stating that it shipped- will receive it Monday (7/23) Did Google NOT expect every Googlehead to order this? They were obviously unprepared for the onslought of calls and pre-orders. I mean, just try calling the Nexus 7 help line. Go ahead. When my order confirmation came up, I noticed that they were going to send it to the wrong address..my former address is only a block away and I know the owner of the house. So I try and call the help line to change my delivery address but to no avail. ONE HOUR HOLD TIME, PEOPLE. I DID THIS THREE TIMES! Monday will be a busy day.

I picked up a Nexus 16 GB today 7/22 at Staples. They said they received overnight ship of 5 today. These were not pre-ordered. I don't get it. I had ordered from google play on 7/16 but could not get any estimate of when it would ship. I of course canceled my google play order. Hurray, no shipping cost.

I ordered the Nexus 7 16gb model from the Google Play website on July 19th, and just received notification that it will be delivered on 7/27/12.

When I originally placed my order estimated ship time was 2 to 3 weeks. So receiving this in 8 days is really great. So it looks like they are working hard to get the back log out!

Since I fall outside of the July 13th ship date my unit is shipping 2 Day UPS Air and is shipping from Louisville, KY.

Looking forward to getting mine tomorrow!
