HootSuite

The popular Web-based Twitter client HootSuite was released for Android this morning, and it's already proving itself to be a top-tier application.

If you're already signed up with HootSuite, you can simply log-in, and it brings your accounts (HootSuite supports multiple Twitter accounts) with it. That's a pretty big time-saver for those of us with split personalities.

Once you're up and running you have all the Twitter basics -- time line, @ replies, DMs, sent messages -- all in one place. Swipe left and right to scroll though them. (Note to all Twitter devs: Please make this a standard feature in your apps. Seriously.) Scrolling left and right is smooth, and I don't have any of the accidental swipes that are a common occurrence in Twidroid.

Another nice feature is the ability to schedule tweets for future publication. Write now, send later.

There's also the usual search functions (profile and tweets), photos and link-shortening, and you can get stats if you use the ow.ly service.

HootSuite is available now as a free "lite" app, or $1.99 for the full version.

Scan or click the QR codes above to download (free version's on the top, paid is on the bottom), and we've got more screen shots after the break.
