Icon Q, a New York-based company that has mostly produced mobile device accessories up until this point, has debuted its first smartphone today called the Q5.5.
Owing to its dual SIM card slot and compatibility with a wide range of networks Icon Q is billing the Q5.5 as a travel smartphone that will let you broaden your horizons. As far as specs are concerned, the device sports a 5.5-inch screen running at a resolution of 1280 x 720, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage with a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB of expandable storage. In addition, the Q5.5 packs a 13MP rear-facing camera, with a 5.0MP shooter up front, and all of this runs on an octa-core 1.4GHz Mediatek processor and a 2100mAh battery. Finally, Icon Q boasts that the device "works on all 3G GSM networks except Verizon and Sprint." The Q5.5 runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, so unfortunately you won't be rocking Google's latest Lollipop should you decide to pick one up.
The design of the Q5.5 is rather sparse, but it does look quite nice. As of right now, it looks to only be available in one color — white. However, with a $199 price tag for an unlocked phone with a dual SIM slot, Icon Q's first smartphone offering isn't a bad deal.
