Google+ Update

Looks like Android's Google+ app just got a nice little update to add some more features -- including the ability to search! -- and squash some bugs. Here's the full changelog:

  • Search
  • +1 photos
  • High resolution photo upload support
  • See if someone's online and currently typing in Messenger conversations
  • Start Messenger conversations by just entering a phone number
  • Links to posts or profiles can now open inside of the app
  • Instant Upload supports videos again
  • Several stability improvements and bug fixes

It's live now on phones and in the web Market. Have at it!

Thanks, @J_Godd, for the tip!

Gmail is red & White, as well as the new Youtube (by Google) is now just a red rectangle with a white play button in the middle. G+ being red & white makes sense, though I do agree I kind of prefer the old logo.

I'm actually really excited about the currently typing feature in Messenger. I came from a BB and that was one of my favorite features of BBM and I'm hoping Messenger (should still be Huddle) will get to the level of BBM.

I'd be happy if I could just get "push" notifications in messenger. I agree it would be a great BBM competitor, except that I sometimes don't get notifications for new messages until several HOURS later.

I've been shocked that this hasn't been fixed yet. Hopefully this update addresses that...but I'm not holding my breath.

"Start Messenger conversations by just entering a phone number"

Wonder how this works... Does this mean free phone calls over Wi-Fi??

Still can't initiate hangouts from mobile.
thanks firespyer for the tip about the other apps. goggles now having continuous mode is a +

The update is buggy for me. I keep getting notifications about new comments even after I read them. Sigh.
