After a teaser earlier this summer, ZTE has now officially revealed its newest flagship smartphone, the Axon Pro. The company is wasting no time in taking pre-orders for the smartphone, for the price of $449.98.
For that price, the ZTE Axon Pro has packed in some high-end hardware, including a 5.5-inch 2560x1440 display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, running at 2.0GHz. It packs in 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It also has a 3,000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm's QuickCharge technology for faster recharging times.
The ZTE Axon has two rear cameras, one 13MP and the other 2MP, along with dual LED Flash. There's also an 8MP front-facing camera. It will have Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
ZTE is very proud of the audio features in the Axon Pro:
Excellent sound quality was a missing component among today's smartphones. An industry first in the U.S., the Axon features two dedicated audio chipsets that allows you to experience sound quality from a smartphone that you've never experienced before. The high-quality sound reproduction feels like the real thing, giving you the sense of atmosphere where the music was originally played, the depth from where the sounds came from, and the goodness of balanced harmonics.
You can also record Hi-Fi music, sounds and voice that enhances any content you want to create, send or share on social media. Advanced audio capabilities reduce wind noise, dual microphones, auto level controllers, and long-distance voice pickup will capture the slightest of sounds from up to 20 feet away. High-end JBL E13 in-ear headphones are included in-box so you can enjoy high-quality audio just about anywhere.
The ZTE Axon Pro comes in three colors: "Phthalo" (Dark) Blue, Ion Gold and Chromium (Grey). ZTE says shipments of the Axon Pro are scheduled to begin as early as July 27. Stay tuned as we will post our hands-on impressions of this new smartphone soon.
