Archos has announced its smartphone lineup for MWC 2015 next week in Barcelona. The new phones include the multimedia-focused Archos 52 Platinum, 59 Xenon, and 62 Xenon, as well as the super-slim 50 Oxygen Plus.
[custom:mwc15] Archos' new Platinum and Xenon phones focus on media, and have many features in common. While the devices have different display sizes, they all carry the same 1280x720 resolution. The Archos 52 Platinum has a 5.25-inch display, with the 59 Xenon equipped with a 5.9-inch screen, and the display on the 62 Xenon comes in at 6.27 inches.
All three phones are packed with the same 1.3GHz quad-core processor. Other common features include the 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via a micro SD slot. The phones each feature an 8MP rear camera, with the 52 Platinum and 59 Xenon also sporting 2MP front-facing cameras. The front-facing camera on the 62 Xenon has a 5MP sensor. These phones support 3G connectivity, including HSPA+, and run Android 4.4 KitKat.
The new Archos 50 Oxygen Plus is ultra-thin, measuring under 0.3mm thick. It has a 5-inch display at 1280x800 resolution. Powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core GPU, the 50 Oxygen Plus has 1GB of RAM, with 16GB of internal storage, expandable to 128GB with a micro SD card. The Oxygen Plus also run Android 4.4 KitKat.
While the version of the Oxygen Plus debuting at MWC 2015 will support 3G connectivity, Archos will release an LTE model in June 2015. That model will also come with Android 5.0 Lollipop.
All of the new Archos devices will be available for viewing at MWC in Hall 1, Stand 1G29.
