Developers can now flash the Android M Developer Preview on some of Sony's Xperia smartphones and tablets.

Google launched the Android M Developer Preview in late May during Google I/O, but only for a select number of its Nexus devices. Sony has enabled the preview to be flashed onto a number of its Xperia smartphones and tablets that are a part of its Open devices program.

The necessary files to enable the Android M preview are available on Sony Mobile's developer page, along with a guide on how to flash the files on the Xperia smartphones. Here's a list of the supported devices:

  • Xperia Z3 Compact
  • Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
  • Xperia Z2
  • Xperia Z2 Tablet
  • Xperia Z1
  • Xperia Z1 Compact
  • Xperia Z Ultra

  • Xperia T2 Ultra
  • Xperia T3
