ZTE has unveiled two new smartphones, the Grand X 3 which is heading to Cricket, along with the Avid Plus, which is destined for MetroPCS and T-Mobile. These two smartphones are more budget than flagship, but they provide some great specs at a truly affordable price. Looking at the specs, you'll have a nice large 5.5-inch screen, with a Qualcomm MSM8909 processor inside that is paired with 2GB of RAM.
It comes with 16GB of on-board storage that can be expanded with a microSD card. The 8MP rear-facing camera should capture some great images as well. Unfortunately, it is launching with Android 5.1, so no Doze feature to help that 3000mAh battery stretch a bit further.
As for the Avid Plus, it features a 5-inch display, a Qualcomm MSM8909 processor that is paired with 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. You can expand it with a microSD if you want to store more of the images that the 5MP camera on the rear can capture for you. This phone will also launch with Android 5.1. Pricing for the two models sits at $129 and $114 for the Grand X 3 and Avid Plus respectively.
Beyond new phone announcements, ZTE has also revealed that it will be opening a new forum community in which it hopes it can use to build a community sourced mobile device. Finally, ZTE has revamped the Axon Passport to version 2.0, which now includes unlimited out of warranty repairs along with total assistance for device upgrades, replacement, shipping and setup.
