OnePlus finally unveiled its budget-focused OnePlus Nord at an AR launch event yesterday. Even though the OnePlus Nord will not be available to purchase until August 4, OnePlus has already started rolling out the first software update for the phone.
The update, which arrives as OxygenOS 10.5.1, is now rolling out to all review units of the OnePlus Nord. If you purchase the phone early next month, you will likely receive a notification asking you to install the OxygenOS 10.5.1 update as soon as you are done setting it up.
The OxygenOS 10.5.1 update for the OnePlus Nord brings optimizations for the depth sensor effect, power efficiency while shooting videos at 4K 60fps, as well as indoor image quality. OnePlus also claims to have improved the camera experience and optimized video calling performance with the update. As is usually the case with most software updates, OxygenOS 10.5.1 improves system stability as well. Since it isn't a major update, OxygenOS 10.5.1 weighs in at just 103MB.
Similar to OnePlus' flagship phones, the OnePlus Nord is guaranteed to receive at least two major OS upgrades and up to three years of security updates.
