You can now 'thumbs up' individual app reviews in the Google Play app

If you've wanted a way to show someone that their review of a particular app helped you, you'll be happy to see that you can now 'thumbs up' a review from the Google Play app. That's right, if you come across a review that you find worthy of being thanked, or liked, or acknowledged positively in some fashion, you can now do so right from your phone. To find helpful reviews, you can sort them by most helpful first, newest first or have the highest rated show up first. Previously, you were only able to use the button on the web, so it's great to see that make its way to the mobile app.

You still can't reply, unless you are the developer, but this is a great way to show appreciation for what was said about a particular app. All you need to do is head to the Google Play app, search for an app and then check out the reviews. On the right hand side of the screen you will notice a thumb icon next to each review, and you can tap that to interact. Google surfaces reviews that help give an overall impression of the app, so adding a thumbs up to reviews you find helpful will end up helping others as well.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
