G-Slate

As of April 20 (that's today) the G-Slate is available from T-Mobile for $529 with a two-year agreement and after a $100 rebate.  The G-Slate packs a Tegra 2 CPU, an 8.9 inch screen, 32 GB of internal storage and has the ability to play and record video in 3D.  T-Mobile also reminds us that the G-Slate "wins hands down on price and network speed" when compared to the competition when comparably spec'd.

Online ordering should be available soon, and once stores open in the morning the G-Slate should be on the shelves.  Will it live up to the hype?  That's the real question.  Discuss it in the forums.  [T-Mobile]

T-Mobile G-Slate now available for $529 with contract

I'm fairly certain the price of this Slate along with the contract are going to cause really slow sales. If the 3D aspect of this device are what caused the high price that's a HUGE mstake on LGs part. The fact that 3D blue/red glasses actually ship in the box is awesome in a WTF were they thinking sort of way.

WOW are you kidding me... I wouldn't even pay that much for it WITHOUT a contract!! Good luck T-Mobile/LG on selling this thing!

While initially excited about the G slate and thought I would prefer it over the Xoom and iPad, the price just knocks it out of contention. I don't know anyone who uses the "Value" carrier of the major cell providers and will shell out this kind of money. Why not go with any other slate that will support wifi. The Nook is just 249 and is laughably hackable. These companies need to be more realistic and less greedy.

Here is are the lowest base no-contract prices:

$749 LG G-Slate
$599 Xoom
$499 Samsung 10.1
$449 Acer Iconia
$449 Toshiba
$399 Asus Transformer
