T-Mobile is apparently giving away the Galaxy Watch 8 for FREE with new deal — here's how to claim yours
Samsung's best entry-level smartwatch is now free at T-Mobile.
Everyone knows that T-Mobile sells smartphones to pair with its many wireless plans, but did you know that the legendary carrier is also home to a variety of tablet and smartwatch deals? Right now, for example, you can get the popular Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 for FREE when you add a wearable line on T-Mobile's Watch Plan Plus.
That means you're getting our overall favorite Android smartwatch for as little as $15 per month when you use T-Mobile. No trade-in is required, and the smartwatch plan gives you unlimited talk, text, and data, international benefits, and more. It's that simple.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 40mm: $399.99 FREE with Watch Plan Plus at T-Mobile
The Galaxy Watch 8 is one of the best smartwatches around, boasting an ideal balance of premium specs and innovative hardware with a sleek, lightweight design. T-Mobile customers who add a line with Watch Plan Plus will get the 2025 wearable (40mm version) for FREE, no trade-in required.
✅Recommended if: you want a sleek, lightweight smartwatch for free; you're already a T-Mobile customer; you own a Samsung phone.
❌Skip this deal if: you want a smartwatch with fantastic battery life or a rugged design; you'd rather buy the smartwatch without signing up for a data plan.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 currently tops our list of the best smartwatches for Android, not because it's the most powerful wearable on the market, but because it offers the perfect balance of specs and value for most people.
Straight out of the box, the 40mm Galaxy Watch 8 boasts a stylish 1.34-inch AMOLED display with 3,000 nits of brightness, plus it features military-grade durability and IP68 water/dust resistance while still measuring at just 8.6mm of thickness.
Under the hood, the Samsung watch is powered by an Exynos W1000 CPU and comes packed with 2GB of RAM and Wear OS 6. You also get 32GB of onboard storage alongside Gemini and a bounty of Samsung Health software features.
So what's the catch?
Although the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 was built to be a crowd-pleaser, there are some things about the watch that you may not like. The lightweight wearable's "squircle"-style design is not for everyone, for instance, and it doesn't have the timeless appearance of, say, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
Battery life on the Galaxy Watch 8 also lags a bit behind some of the best smartwatches for battery life, and the health tracking capabilities, while impressive, aren't as comprehensive or as accurate as some fitness watches.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is good at a lot of things, but it's great at only a few. At the same time, the watch admittedly has a few minor issues, but there aren't any real serious problems that will make you regret your purchase. That's why I emphasize the wearable's balance.
If you're looking for your first-ever smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 8 is an amazing pick. If you need something exceedingly powerful or a watch that's tailormade for one express purpose, you may want to keep looking. Fortunately, if that's the case, Samsung has plenty of other watches worth considering.
