In Short

The Galaxy Note 8, which is set to launch at the end of August, will be the proper successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. Though because the Note 7 had such a stinted life, the Note 8 will carry an increased importance in bringing the Note line up to the modern era of Galaxy phones.

As has been the case in past generations, the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to take on many characteristics of the year's Galaxy S phones, which in this case is the Galaxy S8 and S8+. In particular, the Note 8 should take on many aspects of the Galaxy S8+, including its 18.5:9 aspect ratio display, curved edges and very thin bezels. The Note 8 will differentiate itself with an even larger 6.3-inch display and of course an S Pen stylus, as well as a dual camera setup on the back.

We don't yet know the exact launch details of the phone, but the rumors indicate a launch date of August 23, with retail availability in the week or two after.
