White Nexus 4

White N4 'no longer available for sale,' says Google Play Store

Once an elusive beast captured only in blurry-cam photos from far corners of the world, it seems the white Nexus 4 has disappeared back into the shadows, at least for the moment. The device is now sold out on the U.S. Google Play Store, where both the 8 and 16-gigabyte versions are marked as "no longer available for sale." So if you're after a Nexus in this exclusive color, you'll have to look a little further afield — various sellers are still listing the device on eBay, for instance.

The white Nexus 4 hasn't been offered for sale through Google Play outside of the United States, though an LG press release did state that it'd be heading to "Asia, Europe and the Middle East" in addition to North America. Despite this, the white version has been hard to track down in many countries — and LG UK wasn't able to confirm to us whether the device would ever hit British shores.

The Nexus 4 is of course still available to buy in the original black color.

Congrats Google ~ ✌

I have to say, even though the N4 is a fantastic phone, both Google and LG sealed its fate with horrible sales management. As soon as it would become available, people would flock to it and soon, it would be out of stock again. They need to get their crap together next time they release a Nexus device.

This happened because this was supposed to be limited

The white version is everything but limited lol.

Wonder if anyone would want the white version so much has to buy it for more than what the black one costs ($50 increase). We'll see after a few days on Ebay.

plunder says:

What they really need is a 32Gb version. Does this mean anything or is it just their normal flaky supply chain?

I was looking at the Nexus 10 32Gb in the UK store last night - Out of stock.
I vaguely gathered we would see an updated Nexus 7 soon. Was that another unicorn story?

May I take this opportunity to wish the Americans a happy 4th of July.

On one hand it feels pretty cool to have a phone that gets double takes because there's almost zero chance of seeing another in the wild.

On the other, its kinda sad knowing that more people aren't able to get one without paying an irrational premium.

Either way the resale value of this thing is pretty sweet.

I've seen 15 other N4s in the wild. That's more than any other Android phone I've seen except the S3.

I had a chance to get the white one a few weeks back and I went with the black. I just think I would have gotten sick of the white :-\

Same here, choose the black. Got it last week and such a great phone

I think it's kind of a moot point, really. The white doesn't extend to the front, and using a glass-backed phone without some kind of case is a pretty bad idea, so they pretty much end up looking the same in the long run.

Official bumper FTW. Came free with mine at the time too.

Wonder if google/lg would ever learn from their mistakes... What a pathetic experience it has been for customers trying to buy one!... It amazes me how they don't even give a #**# about it.

Talk to me when Google does it correctly. It doesn't take a genius to say they have done a crappy job lately, just a nexus apologizer to make the comment you did

"nexus apologizer" smh. You are like a walking internet stereotype.

Why for stating why I see as a pattern? Not only in this thread but elsewhere as well

No, your choice of words.

Agreed. Google have done a crappy job selling the N4 by only making it available to a small part of the world. I had to buy mine here in New Zealand via a parallel importer for about twice the price on the Play Store.

Good thing I ordered mine yesterday! He he he

No post about Samsung users being able to download the Jay-Z album today? Or the fact app is bogus.

Why are people complaining about this? It isn't out of stock. They explicitly stated that it was a limited edition phone.

Because the Google supply chain is a joke?

Do you lack literacy? They said they would pull the devices off Play in a short amount of time.

Funny, in the LG announcement it never states that it is limited time, and it also states that the device would be available in "Asia, America, Europe and Middle East in the coming weeks"

lgnewsroom com newsroom contents 6 3 4 5 4 (change the spaces to slashes except the number is all one number)

Letting T-Mobile sell it was for a limited time.

My reading comprehension is just fine, unlike yours. Before you go spouting off dbag, get your crap together

Hrm I got White on a whim after my GNex got shattered. Didn't expect it to be that limited. Cool I have a collectors item in my pocket.

I so wish there was an expansion card or a 32gb flavour of the Nexus 4. It is so nearly the perfect Android phone. Mine is certainly much faster than the iPhone 4S I just kicked to the curb. It's even faster than my friends bloaty S4.

Google has done such a bad job in selling the nexus 4, in meeting demand that i wonder if this is not by design? I mean really this phone 7 months old. I would have ordered a million white ones from LG to boast sales. And the asian and european markets would have been able to buy from the same day as the US market, Momentum and all that.Maybe they are just still losing money on the nexus 4 through subsidies and simply see no point in putting themselves out of pocket to the tune of 10 million sold.

This is what I was thinking, especially with the white Nexus 4.
