This was a very poor move by Google. They just lost credibility in my eyes. I used to criticize Apple when I was downloading iTunes to a corporate computer watching the slogan "That's entertainment" and having nothing to do with wanting entertainment. They just wanted their phone activated.
Now I have to tell my corporate Android customers that they need to look for an icon labeled "Google Play" for their word processing, spreadsheet, and other productivity apps.
Ridiculous!!

I agree that it is a questionable name change. Android Market just made sense, if anything I think Google Market would have been a better change.
