Droid X qHD

Now why would the Motorola Droid X suddenly be listed on the Droid Does with a 560x960 resolution touchscreen? That's a qHD display, folks (or close enough). And we're more than willing to bet that's what's on the upcoming Droid X2. Some recent Nenamark benchmark tests apparently back it up.

And we're still awaiting an official announcement from Verizon, but we have a feeling they'll probably play this one low key, like they did the Droid Incredible 2.

I guess Motorola's sticking with adding a few extra pixels to standard resolutions. Example: 854 x 480 instead of 800 x 480 (WVGA) and now 960 x 560 instead of 960 x 540 (qHD). Interesting.

That's kind of how Apple works in terms of product updates... 1) Come out with new device 2) Release a version or two with updated specs 3) Revolutionary (as they often say) new version 4) Repeat steps 2 through 4.

i think you have Apple confused with HTC :) ... 1) Come out with new device 2) Release a version or two with updated specs 3)Quietly Brilliant (as they often say) new version 4) Repeat steps 2 through 4.

I think it is a typo haha, if it says qHD that should definitely mean 960x540

Blueriver says:

Actually, 854x480 is real WVGA, which has 16:9 ratio.
800x480 is somewhat between 16:9 and 16:10. (You can do the math)

For some reason, they refer 800x480 as WVGA and 854x480 as FWVGA (F stands for Full).

960x560 is probably a typo.

I just heard the sound of a million Droid Xs get dropped to trade up to qHD. VZW just got a bunch more 1 year sybs

You can no longer sign a 1 year contract. It's either no contract or 2 years.
