Droid X Seidio Spring Clip holster

Carrying around the Motorola Droid X in a holster is no small matter. Literally. The phone has a 4.3-inch screen. But the Seidio Spring-Clip Holster makes short work of it.

The holster itself is really simple. You slide the phone face-first into the holster from the bottom, then affix the clip at the top. The holster itself is made of a soft-touch plastic, and the inside is covered in felt to protect the screen. The holster actually doesn't add much bulk to the phone. You'll certainly know you're carrying it around, but it's not overly bulky.

Releasing the phone is as simple as lifting up on the spring clip. The clip doesn't lock into place, so you'll want to be a tad bit careful about accidentally knocking it against something. But at the same time, we're not worried about the spring giving way during normal everyday use.

There's a belt clip on the back of the holster. Its spring is pretty tight, too, so no worries about it falling off your hip. The belt clip can be rotated, too, for a custom fit. It's not removable (hey, it's a holster), but neither does it stick too far off your body.

We've got more pics after the break. The Seidio Spring-Clip Holster for the Motorola Droid X is available in the Android Central Store for $24.95.

Droid X case review: Seidio Spring-Clip Holster

I've had clips of this sort before for other devices.. and they never really do the job.. something snaps, cracks, or the phone falls out. for a device that retails at $400+... i think my pocket.. or an OtterBox will do just fine.

As have I. However, I've had this holster for my Palm Pre before and for my Droid OG now. I wear it constantly and have found the Seidio design to be robust for both the spring clip that hold the phone and the clip that attaches to your belt. I've never had a phone get ejected and I've caught the clip several times. The felt lining designed for an inward facing screen also help protect from scratches.
Whatever my next phone ends up being, my first purchase will be one of these holsters. There are certainly cheaper ones out there, but, as you note, you get what you pay for.

Cases like that worked well for my Motorola Startac, LG 4800, or LG 8300 because those phones were tanks. The times that something happened that caused those phones to be ejected to the floor/concrete were no big deals. I don't think my X would fare as well.

Had the same case for my HTC Tilt, and have it now for my Droid 1. Best holsters I've ever owned. It will continue to be my first purchase after getting any future phones!!!

I have had one of these on my Captivate since they were available. 3 months maybe? The holster works great with the Seidio case.

Really, do we have to display the holster with those jeans? Get the Korean girls from the LG commercial and then we'd be talking.

So, was this a real review or just a wordy advertisement for your store?

I asked a real question about a real concern of Seidio's holsters. Seeing that some of their other holsters do have this issue. I would hope that if this was a real post you cared about, there would be some response.
Oh well, maybe I ask for too much. Maybe a disclaimer at the top stating it is an ad, like magazines do. So that I would not have spent the time reading it looking for info not on Seidio's website.
Good luck with your store.
