AT&T has announced that they'll carry the all-new HTC One at launch. What's more, they'll be offering both the silve and black versions, and both the 32GB and 64GB models. Jeff Bradley, senior vice president-Devices, has the official quote:

As our lives become increasingly mobile, our smartphones play the vital role of keeping us connected to the things we value most in life. The HTC One’s revolutionary way of tapping into your day-to-day activities and creating a truly personalized experience, combined with AT&T’s lightning fast 4G LTE network, make sure you have access to the information you want, when you need it.

1.7 GHz, quad-core, 1080p, ultrapixel camera, stereo speakers, and all the bells and whistles included, of course. AT&T will also be offering the HTC One with AT&T DriveMode, to help you stay safe and distraction free behind the wheel.

AT&T to carry HTC One at launch

I'm guessing/hoping $649 for the 64GB?

Out of curiousity, does HTC have any kind of phone tracking and remote wipe capabilities? And does AT&T kill that stuff for their versions? They did with the S3 which is why I'm asking.

That's what I'm thinking as far pricing goes. It all makes sense that AT&T prices it at that price. The 32GB should be $549, and the 64GB $649. All of AT&T phones in the pass has been priced as high as $549 besides Apple and them overpricing there no contract devices. Reason why they sell faster on Craigslist then at stores. It makes perfect sense to do price it like that because the HTC One X+ that's been out since November has been priced at $549 since release. And the only thing is that it has 1GB of Ram. Which is okay. and it has 64GB of storage. The LG Optimus G with its 32GB storage was also priced at $549 and got reduced to $499 now at no contract price. That's whats been on my mind for the longest. I think me and you are right though.

Just updated to the Note 2 on Wednesday. Deciding if I should keep it or hold out for this. Have 8 days to decide.

I have an available update on my account, and almost pulled the trigger on a Note II, but decided to hold off for this, and the S IV announcements. However if you really are in the market for a Phablet, and want the biggest display possible, I'd say keep the Note II

I had a One X before the Note II and was just tired with not being on the update ship. I hope the same doesn't happen with this phone. I have until the 27th to return the Note II so I may just do that. I just feel TouchWiz is so much more bloated than Sense. Plus the design of the One looks really sleek. I like the aluminum better than plastic.

If you don't like being left behind on updates and think TouchWiz is bloated, why not try the Nexus 4?

I'm not going to buy a HTC phone fron ATT again. They dump you as soon as new phone comes out, so you never get any update. I understand if it's due to lack of resource, but apparently it's their business strategy, since they provide updates to Samsung series.

No removable battery? No MicroSD card slot? No sale.

Phone manufacturers need to stop making "flagship" phones that lack such basic features that have been in even low-end phones for many, many years. It isn't rocket-science. Add them for the few cents more it costs... if someone doesn't use them, fine... but those of us who DO want them will actually buy the phone when we otherwise wouldn't, amounting to countless more sales.

Personally, I'd rather have it all as one intergrated package. The reason low end phones need removable batteries and SD slots is so that manufacturers can cut cost by shipping them with tiny batteries and the bare minimum memory, then the users that want more can add more. I'd rather have the superior design and build quality that a sealed unit allows for than access to a battery I'll never change and an SD card slot I don't need (since 32 GB is more than enough for me). I think more people fall into my boat than yours. Are there users that want removable batteries and SD slot? Yes, of course, but not that many of them. Now that smartphones are mass market products instead of the geek-centric niche products of 5 years ago, they need to cater to the general consumer who wants an attractive, quality product that is simple to use and understand.

You are in the minority. It costs too much to engineer a phone with features that nobody cares about (most people are not mega geeks like us). 32gb is more than enough for most people and who wants to worry about a removable battery? Plus those things make for a sloppier design. People want a phone that "works", not something that is fiddly. HTC will never win market share simply catering to phone nerds. They need to appeal to the masses.

Man, I really, really, really wish this phone had a 5"+ screen. I really don't like the 4.7" screen size but I love every other spec of this phone. What are the odds that in 3-6 months they'll anounce a Note competitor?

I concur, I'm in the same boat. I've had every Evo and I decided to try the Note II and I can't go back to smaller screens.

Great news!

I can't wait until it gets rooted so I can buy it and uninstall all the AT&T crapware!

Don't want to be rude, but this article says "... they'll be offering both the silve and black versions..." instead of silver. Just thought I'd help.
