Sprint's Relay ID Pack aids those with hearing difficulties

Being a Deaf android user myself, this is really nice. Question I have is, are these apps specialized versions? I use launcher pro and really dont have much interest in the Sprint ID package.

So, are there really visual notifications or just the LED flasher and icons on the status bar?

Thanks! :D
