EE

EE, the UK's most widespread 4G LTE network operator, has announced that it's switched on LTE in 14 new towns this morning — Benfleet, Caerphilly, Caldicot, Canvey Island, Carlisle, Chepstow, Cwmbran, Grays, Harlow, Hatfield, Kenilworth, Rayleigh, Southport and Worksop.

The network expansion comes one day before EE's new 4G price plans come into effect, with a new tiered approach to data speeds, higher mobile broadband allowances and EE's first PAYG LTE deals.

The carrier recently claimed to have 60 percent UK population coverage with its 4G network.

Basically, the first company to reach my town with 4g gets my business. Simple. Signal is same on all networks here so it's just down to them pulling their finger out

Hmnm interesting although im guesing it will be a couple of years before 4g is available north of Inverness? I do get H+ when out and in most erea's so not going to come down heavy on EE but obviously 4g would be appriciated :-)

The signal won't improve with 4g anyway, the 4g is purely for data transmission, text and voice are still carried over 2g and the signal is still on 1800Mhz on EE, when they start using the 800Mhz part of the spectrum then more rural areas will get better signal and the same for the 2600Mhz part for more built-up areas such as major cities etc, roll on those days, and still waiting for EE to roll out 4g in my city here in the South West of England. All these minor towns getting it yet ignoring this part of the country entirely, grrr.

I was about to say that the towns getting it are a bit obscure. Worksop? Here in Brighton nothing, yet EE still billboarding the town. Has to be false advertising

Wish I waited to upgrade now.. I'm on the £54 tariff.. Same tariff is now £38 or something... Only after 2 months! Wish they would pass some of the price drops to existing customers.

If only the coverage maps were true. Where I am right now in Carlisle I can barely get GPRS yet EE's map states full 2G, 3G and now 4G coverage. They've already recently been told off for their faulty coverage maps - it looks like they're doing jack all to fix it.
