I'd only agree with this because the original SIIs are no longer being made, I think even I would take a Gex over the downgraded SII (G model) in today's market.

I don't think they're selling the i9100G in Australia.
All the people I know off who got a SGS2 from Optus or Virgin recently recieved i9100, or i9100T if from Voda or Telstra.

Couldn't agree more!

So far I've converted/convinced 3 iPhone users to get a Galaxy Nexus and they've all admitted it's brilliant. One said his only issue is the amount of money he's got invested in Apps on the iOS platform.

I understand that and he's stayed with iOS, buying an iPhone 4s which he freely admits regretting having played with a Galaxy Nexus. It really feels like the prophecy of the Galaxy Nexus is coming true, now all we need as Android lovers is some stability and reliability in the platform. :\

Oh there is and Google's got some big plans and I just wish the fragmentation would stop being so rapid this with last years crazy launches makes my head spin but a sigh of reliefs if your worried about security Google realesed a program that scans all apps for known malicious code and is updated its been running and scanning for almost a month don't be fooled by Symantec. Or any of the major security firms they want your money and over half the stuff they say developers disect it and find nothing

I was wondering if Australia would get a mention in the whole "Best Smartphones Around the World" thing... Although I am a little disappointed to see that AndroidCentral's recommendation is the incredibly-overrated Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Yes it's no secret I would prefer to see a Sony Ericsson smartphone up there, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter because there are plenty of other smartphones out there that are far, FAR more original and innovative than the Samsung Galaxy Nexus or any other Samsung "Galaxy" product...

Quality, innovation and originality are two "key" requirements for a "fantastic" smartphone - Samsung might sit close to the top for quality, but they're certainly not even in the same ballpark as "innovative" or "original"!

Smart arse remark: "The original Ice Cream Sandwich device."
