Your Snapchat photos may have been exposed in massive compromise

At least 100,000 Snapchat photos have been stolen and leaked, taken from a third-party Snapchat client. The 13GB database is now circulating around 4chan and other forums. The images reportedly came either from popular Snapchat client Snapsave or, both of which allow users to save photos and videos they receive. Snapchat says that their own servers are secure, and not the source of the breach, according to Business Insider:

We can confirm that Snapchat's servers were never breached and were not the source of these leaks. Snapchatters were victimized by their use of third-party apps to send and receive Snaps, a practice that we expressly prohibit in our Terms of Use precisely because they compromise our users' security. We vigilantly monitor the App Store and Google Play for illegal third-party apps and have succeeded in getting many of these removed.

Do you use a third-party app or website with Snapchat, and do you worry about breaches like this? Sound off below in the comments.
