Verizon G Nex

You've been waiting since July for some Jelly Bean on your Verizon Galaxy Nexus, and you just can't wait any longer. It's pushing out as we speak, but who knows when it will make it to your device. There's no way in hell you're going to sit one more day and read about everyone enjoying Jelly Bean while you mash the button to check for updates. We got ya.

The good news is you don't have to wait. The easy to unlock bootloader on the Nexus means it's relatively easy to flash the update yourself, and you too can join in the Jelly-fest. (I'm trade marking Jelly-fest, BTW). You'll need to be running a stock build, and have all the right tools, but thankfully the fellows in the Verizon Nexus forums have you covered.

They'll have you up and running in no time with clear and simple directions, and they're there to answer any and all questions should something go haywire. Click the link, grab your cable, and don't forgot to thank the dedicated folks who took the time to put this one together.

Nope, give it another month or so when 4.1.2 comes out and the GSM Nexus gets an OTA, then everyone will be bitchin and moanin about how the VZW Nexus isn't really a Nexus still because it's only on 4.1.1

It's a Nexus in my book. Easily unlocked bootloader, and a choice of a gajillion ROMs for this thing. I never worry about VZW and their update schedule. I take matters in my own hands. Fun to tinker with this thing!! Hey, if they officially update this phone like twice a year, it's still more updates than the iPhone, right? Huzzah!!!

Not at the least jelly(r). I wasn't willing to wait and jumped to rooted, loving what I get out of this phone. I'm looking forward to a finalized cm20 hopefully soon.

On the contrary, Jellybean is what makes this 'old' hardware run and feel better than a lot of new hardware out there. ;-)

And many months more left for the HTC One S on T-Mobile. We don't even have Android 4.0.4 update yet. Sigh....

Followed the directions in the forum..used wug's toolkit to flash TRWB recovery and then the actual jellybean update. Everything went without a hitch..only took a few minutes until the phone was upgrading all the files...if you have a lot of music or media stored on your phone (I had about 4-5GBs)...upgrading the media database took about 15 minutes so don't worry the phone is locked up just leave it alone it will get there...The first thing I noticed was that the gallery loads instantly! My phone with ICS would take about 15-30 seconds to load he gallery.....Everything is MUCH smoother and faster...

Thats sucks.....I got iOS 6 on my iPhone 4S the day it was released. Must suck having to wait months if ever to get the latest OS. Well if you don't root your phone.

I want to thank everyone here at Android Central for telling me how to update my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. The phone works awesome. I am so glad that I am part of the best community out here.
